Ideas for decorating for retirement party...?!

Question: Ideas for decorating for retirement party!.!.!.!?
My Dad is a retired state trooper and we're having a retirement party for him this weekend at his church reception hall!. He and I are going up a couple of hours before the party to decorate!. We don't have a lot of money to spend on decorations, does anyone have any cheap ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Display pictures of the guest of honor as he or she appeared at work over the years!. Or set out memorabilia from significant accomplishments on the job, such as locations he/she has lived in, items from each tour of duty, port of call, etc!.!. In the entryway place an enlarged picture of the Retiree on an easel and hang a set up a guest Sign in Table with a guest book!.

Hang a metallic curtain - so that the retiree can have his/her picture taken with either individuals or groupings of his choice!. You will want to take plenty of photographs to document this important once-in-a-lifetime event!

Hang blue, gold and white streamers & balloons!.

You should go with a "State Trooper" theme!. It would be cool if you could display some part of his uniform!.
You could try to make a police light and use it as a disco ball!. Maybe make a rectangular box out of plexiglass, paint it to look like the siren lights of a police car and put portable disco balls in them (party city, really cheap)!. You can hang this from the ceiling!.
You could do centerpieces using fake walkie talkies, with handcuffs and "cop shades" coming out of them or scattered around them!.
Play music from popular cops shows like Miami Vice, the Cops theme song, and songs like "I Shot the Sheriff"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The dollar store always has good deals!. You can get a red lite and a disco ball!. and play music that he likes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
