Breakfast at Tiffany's themed birthday party?!

Question: Breakfast at Tiffany's themed birthday party!?
For my next birthday (my 14th), I'd like to have a Breakfast at Tiffany's themed party, since that's my favorite movie!. I was wondering if you have any good suggestions, since I'm not the greatest at planning parties!. So far I was thinking of asking everyone to get all dressed up in their best 50s glamour, watching the movie (of course), and maybe having it in the morning/early afternoon and serving breakfast/brunch!? Any other suggestions!? Please give some good and specific ideas! Thank you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I'm also planning my breakfast at tiffany's sweet 16!.!.!.this is what I have/am doing so far!.!.!.

The dress code is "come in your little black dress or top/pants)

I went to Michael's to try and find some candy molds, came back without any but I picked up some very cute "Tiffany Blue" tin cans!. They're round and I'm going to put personalized M&M's in there for the guests!. We're ordering the M&M's from their website and I'm getting them in Aqua, black, white, and silver!.

I've ordered the party favor boxes/bags from sophiesfavors!.com and deluxefavors!.com!.

For party favors, I bought each of my friends (it's going to be a small party with about 5 friends) a mini porcelain "Tiffany Box" with a charm inside from tiffany!.com!.

My cousin just got married in January so we bought some cute martini glasses for her lingerie party!. I'm going to serve "blue punch" in them and in the extras, I'm going to put costume jewelry in as centerpieces!. Message me for the recipe for the punch!.

Decorations:

I bought black tulle from Nashvillewraps!.com and I'm going to take down the curtains in my kitchen, living room, dining room and foyer (that's where the guests will primarily be) and I'm going to wrap the tulle around the curtain rods and wrap aqua lights in there also!. I have actual tiffany's boxes which will be stacked according to size on the counters/tables!. I bought white table cloths for the tables and white chair covers tied with an aqua dyed (rit dye) sash!. On the tiffany's boxes I have to/from cards in aqua blue and I'm going to write things like "To Angie, with Love- From Brad"!. I have a few posters of Audrey Hepburn in the movie that are in my room that I'm moving into the living and they're going to take the place of family photos!.!.!.I'm also removing all of the lights and am going to replace them with aqua tinted bulbs to give the rooms a blue glow!.

Favors:

blue tins w/ m&ms
tiffany boxes with charms
holly golightly sleep mask from fredflare!.com
holly golightly glasses from fredflare!.com
big fake rings

Activities:

In my foyer, I'm going to have a "blue carpet" instead of the red carpet, since that's going to be the entrance!. In closet in the foyer I'm going to have a photo booth, which is just fabric of my choice as a backdrop and a digital camera on a self-timer!.

We're going to play "Pin the tail on the cat" instead of the donkey!.

I'm going to fill a big blue tiffany's box with rice and have rhinestones in there!. We're going to be blindfolded and try to find the most rhinestones in one minute!.!.!.and whoever wins all of the games gets a special prize!.!.!.either a book of audrey hepburn found at amazon!.com or the actual special edition movie!.

In my living room, on the coffee table, I'm going to have a scrap book and toward the end of the party, I'm going to print the pictures off of the digital camera in the photo booth, and each guest gets to make a page with whatever pictures they like!.

I'm also going to buy a bunch of disposable cameras and just lay them throughout the house and whenever somebody wants to take a picture, they can!. After the party, if they want pictures developed, I'm going to ask them to pay about $5-10 to get the pictures developed (can you imagine how much it would cost to get hundreds of pictures developed)!.

Food:
My cousin is a pastry chef, so she's going to make a "Tiffany Box" cake and chocolate cupcakes with the blue icing and fake edible pearls!. Then shrimp cocktails and finger sandwiches!.

As thank you's, I'm going to send a personalized aqua blue thank you card, stamped with an Audrey Hepburn stamp found at joann!.com!.!.!.along with a cd of the music from the movie soundtrack, and other "Tiffany's" songs!.

Message me for the playlist of that also!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should look up some of the details of Truman Capote's (the author of Breakfast at Tiffany's) famous "black and white" party, (it's considered by some to be one of the greatest social events of the century), wear your hair up and put on a lot of diamond costume jewelry!. Make fun virgin cocktails and serve them in cute plastic martini glasses!. Of course you'll need to get a bunch of Henry Mancini's music!.Maybe even find some cute 50's style halloween masks (like ghosts and kitty cats) and pass them out to all the guests!. Pass out long strands of fake pearls!. You'll have to find something for entertainment!. Do they make a scene-it for Breakfast at Tiffany's!? or you can just make it a sleepover and watch old Audrey Hepburn movies (Wait Until Dark is awesome)!. For food you can make some hip 50's style snacks like fondue, mini eggrolls and shrimp
cocktail (or if you wanted to get really crazy you could make mini souffles) Just some ideas!. Good luck with your party!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

First off, ask everyone to come all glamorously dressed up, preferably in LBDs and with their hair in fancy up-dos!. An activity you could do is make pearl necklaces and bracelets, and dancing, of course! Get cigarette holders and pretend to smoke them, and drink virgin martini's, or non-alcoholic champage!.!. unless, of course, you are a law-breaker!. Make it a sleepover and at night, everyone can sing Moon River together as a lullaby, and of course watch Breakfast at Tiffany's! In the morning!.!. what else!?! Danishes and coffee, and you guys could go to your town center and stand outside some jewelry store just like Audrey =) After breakfast, do the 4 things that Holly and Paul/Fred do that they've never done: 1!. Drink something you've never drank before breakfast!.!. if you're a law-breaker, it can be champagne like in the movie, but I wouldn't recommend doing that =) Next, go to a public library!. After that, go to your local jewelry store and get things engraved for all your guests - sort of a "party favor!." And lastly, steal something from a store!.!. JK=) Hope you enjoy your party! PS!. You're upstairs =) Love ya sis!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get some fake diamond rings for favors!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wow that sounds really cool! I think you have it all planned really good!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You might want to take a look at The Oriental Trading Company online for decroations that are not expensive!. Tiffany is known for its blue color and elegance, so be sure and include that in your decorations!. Audrey Hepburn was chic, so there was an element of glamor there too!. And, Henry Mancini did the sound track, so find an old cd and have it as background music!. Lots of fake jewels and diamonds, black accent colors!. "Breakfast" would fit the theme perfectly! Here are some menu ideas:

Menu I:

Orange juice, pommegranite juice and sparkling water in champagne flutes
Canadian bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese
Croissants with sweet butter
Tea or Coffee (decaf) with cream and sugar

Menu II:

Fruit compote with whipped cream
Banana nut bread
Egg and sausage quiche
Cream and Raspberry sherbert punch

Menu III:

Crepes filled with apples and cinnamon
Bacon and sausage
Italian Sodas with Raspberry Syrup and San Pelligrino sparkling water

Menu IV:

Orange scones with Nutella (chocolate hazelnut spread)
Scrambled eggs with cheese and green chili's
Brown sugar bacon
Hot chocolate with cinnamon

Menu V:

Blueberry muffins with sweet honey butter
Fresh fruit kabobs with a marshmallow cream cheese dipping sauce
Smoked ham
Scrambled eggs

Anyway, have fun on your special day!
