Vegetarian party food (10 yr olds)?!

Question: Vegetarian party food (10 yr olds)!?
My daughter is turning 10 next week and she is having friends round to our house to celebrate with her!. I'm going to prepare party food i!.e!. Sausage rolls, crisps, sandwiches etc!. (on a budget)
Some of her friends are vegetarian so I would like to make sure I offer them plenty of choice so that I can be sure they'll enjoy the food!.
Any ideas what would be suitable!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I'd put out some raw veggie plates with ranch dressing (carrots, celery, broccoli, snow peas, etc!.) and a small selection of fruit, cheese and crackers!.

For quick, easy ideas on how to put together fun little snacks, veggie or not, check out http://www!.kraftfoods!.com!. I love that site!.

When my kids were younger I fixed lots of stuff off this site for their birthdays - the "Dive-In" pool cake made with blue jello was the cutest thing ever - the kids and parents went nuts and it was super easy!.!.!.cause I'm not a baker!. I still use it all the time for adult party appetizers, etc!., and I'm sure they have lots of vegetarian - and regular - stuff that 10-yr!. olds would enjoy!.

Of course they advertise their own brand on there - but there are plenty of really quick and simple ideas you can adjust!. Depending on where you live, they send a really good magazine every month, too!. It's pretty handy!.!.!. Have fun!

I'm a vegetarian as well, and I think that it is very nice of you to put out meat free options!

My favorite is spinach dip in a bread bowl!.
Here is the recipe!.!.
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1 envelope dry vegetable soup mix
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
3 green onions, chopped

also you could do a dill dip with a vegetable platter with things like bell peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, etc!.

Here is the Dill dip recipe!.!.
2 cups mayonnaise
2 cups sour cream
1 tablespoon dried parsley
3 tablespoons grated onion
3 tablespoons dried dill weed
1 1/2 tablespoons seasoning salt

And for them to eat I would do like a homemade mac and cheese, or potato or macaroni salad!.

Melt the butter in a large saucepan!. Blend in flour and gradually add the milk, stirring constantly; add the seasonings!. Cook until the sauce is thickened!.
Add one cup grated cheddar cheese and stir until melted!. Cook macaroni as directed, drain, and add to cheese sauce and mix well!. Turn the mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish or pan!. Sprinkle the top with 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs!.

Bake in a 375°F oven for about 15 minutes!. Remove from the oven and place under the broiler until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned!. Serves 6-8!.

In a small bowl combine vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and dill weed!. Pour over potatoes and toss gently!. Refrigerate for several hours, or overnight!.
Stir in sour cream, and pickles just before serving!. Garnish with tomato wedges!.
