Dinner Party...?!?!

Question:

Dinner Party...?!?

I am hosting my first family dinner party to celebrate my kid's B-Day...Any ideas on what to serve?Should I do a buffet type thing {there's going to be around 12 ppl.}Thanks.

Answers:
I am a strong believer that the kids can eat the same thing the adults can eat, so I would serve the same for both. For my daughter's 9th b-day a few weeks ago we had homemade tamales, salsa and chips, 7 layer dip and I made 2 homemade pizzas, for those that weren't into the tamales. Everyone had fun, the food was good, and the kids tried everything. Something that is easy and makes everyone happy is a big batch of baked ziti. And then serve some garlic bread and a big salad as well. You should have a great time.

steak

I would serve dino-chicken/fries for the kids.
Then lasagna, salad and bread for the adults.

I would definately do kid food and adult food..separate them into 2 buffets if you have room...feed the kids first..then the adults...

pizza, hot dogs wrapped in cresent rolls.. or I like to do fun skewers for the kids with chunks of ham, cheese, fruit and a marachino cherry for the kids..they are fun and very easy!! you can buy fun festive skewers from any party store...

adults..I usually do a salad , mostaccoli (you can make ahead and keep warm) and some bread...keep it simple so you can enjoy the party!!

have fun!
