Appetizers for a girls night!?!

Question:

Appetizers for a girls night!?

I'm planning a girls nigh/"fun party" at my house. This will be the first time my girls are all together at my house! It's on a Thursday night, however, we have off the next day...veterans day. ;-) Being that I do have to work Thursday I'm having problems coming up with some quick and easy appetizers for us to enjoy before hand. Any help would be great!!! Thanks!

Answers:
Do as much as you can ahead of time and then you can just sit back with the girls. Anything you can bake while getting dressed or doing that last minute rush-around-the-house-pick-up is always a good thing! I love this recipe (and you can make it up to 3 days in advance!)

1 8oz package of cream cheese
1 jar of pizza/spaghetti sauce
1 package of pre-sliced pepperoni
1 8oz bag of shredded mozzarella

Spread the cream cheese along the bottom of an 8" round or square pan. Top with 1 and 1/2 cups of pizza sauce. Top that with half the bag of sliced pepperoni and sprinkle with the mozzarella. Layer the last of the pepperoni on top.
Wrap with plastic and refrigerate until ready to bake.
Uncover and bake at 350 until cheese it golden and bubbly (about 20 minutes) Serve with slices of french bread or bagel chips

just tell me were and when :)

Banana split pie, it's delicous, and most girls have a sweet tooth.

Banana Split Pie
Made with cream cheese, Kool Whip, and fruit, this chilled pie would make a great dessert for family get-togethers.
INGREDIENTS:
?1 ready made graham cracker crust
?1 8-ounce package cream cheese,softened
?1 cup powdered sugar
?1 egg
?1 teaspoon vanilla
?1 small can crushed pineapple, drained
?1 pound bananas, sliced
?1 container Kool Whip, thawed
?1 small jar maraschino cherries
?1 tablespoon walnuts, shelled and crushed
PREPARATION:
Combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg and vanilla; beat until smooth. Spoon into pie crust. Next, layer each remaining ingredient in order: pineapple, sliced bananas, Kool Whip, cherries. Top with nuts.
Let set for 1 hour in refrigerator.

pigs in a blanket, deviled eggs, onion dip with celery carrrots....ritz crackers, chips etc...

OK buy cream cheese, pepperoni and Ritz crackers. smear cream cheese on both Ritz crackers then put on 2 slices of peperoni in the middle and smush together! It tastes wonderful!

You can get TGIF's products. They have wings, spinach dip, mozzarella sticks. You can also take some cream cheese and picante sauce together in the microwave for some dip. Add some tortilla chips or corn chips and that's a great appetizer.

Take an 8 oz. cream cheese, place on a plate, and pour chili over it, and sprinkle with Cheddar cheese, and serve with tortilla chips. Or pour worcestershire sauce over the cream cheese, and serve with crackers. These two have gone over well with the PTA, and other parties that I've been to. Also, it's really quick to make!

Cheese sticks and marinara sauce.

Those big round Shepperd bread things used as a bowl, stuffed with spinach dip was always a big hit at work.

OK, this is super easy & I have had many compliments on it.

Melt (in a crock pot)1 lg brick of Velveeta cheese-cubed (low fat is OK)
** I put in microwave to speed melting if need be
Add 2 packs of frozen CREAMED spinach
Add milk to desired consistency

Serve with tortilla chips. Tostitos gold are the best b/c they are thick.

If you have an "American Cafe" near you, this tastes like their Spinach Con Queso.

Some of my favs:
Mini Burgers
Calimari (can be bought frozen)
Mozzarella Sitcks (can be bought frozen and cooked in less than 3 minutes)
Popcorn Shrimp
Hot Wings
Taco Dip with Tortilla Chips
Recipe for taco dip. 8oz of Sour Cream, 8 oz of Cream Cheese 1 package of McCormacks (sp) Taco Seasoning. Mix with electric mixer. Put the mixture on a plate with lettuce and tomatoes and meat (if desired). This is very tasty!
Have fun!

Those little tiny hot dogs that come in a can; an homage to all the men in your lives.

First you'll need drinks they have easy cosmo mixes at walmart or any grocery or liquor store ! An easy recipe for individual pizza's is to get a can of Pillsbury garlic/butter croissants roll them out and top them with your favorite pizza toppings, you can also do lil smokies or meatballs in a crockpot with a mix of bbq sauce and a can of cranberry sauce. There are cream filled lady fingers you can buy at any bakery you take and dip them in chocolate pudding and top with whipped cream. You can also do a Rotel cheese dip and serve with chips. I hope this helps

if you have a deepfryer then go buy chicken nuggets, tator tots, shrimp, halopino peppers, breaded mushrooms, fries or anything you like they each take about 4-7 min to make quite a bit and you have a big varity

You can either prepare or buy a ready made antipasto plate for starters. Also deviled eggs and pigs in the blanket are good. Vegetables and various dips. Cheese and crackers of different kinds. Salsa and tortilla chips are also good. You can also make small finger sandwiches from egg salad, ham and cheese or tuna salad. Cut the crusts off and cut them into small triangles. Also you can buy or make pepperoni and mozzarella bread cut in thin slices. Some cut up melon and pineapple speared on cocktail sticks are nice too. For some later desserts, various cookies and cheesecake and some pound cake topped with fresh strawberries that have soaked in lemon juice and sugar for a while to make them juicy and then topped with whipped cream.
I hope some of these suggestions are helpful to you and have a great time on your girls night!

prepare what you can the night before, bake off the next day, or reheat.

some of my favorites are stuffed mushrooms, spinach pies, zatar bread, puff pastry filled with anything, chicken winglets.

stuffed mushrooms
1 package of snowwhite mushrooms
1 bunch parsely finely chopped
1-2 garlic cloves minced
grated parmeasean cheese
bread crumbs (italian syle)
olive oil

remove the stems from the mushrooms, chopp finely and add all the remaining ingredients, add enough olive oil to make the stuffing kind of like a paste, u know enough so you can make balls out of them.. stuff each mushroom cap with the stuffing. i like to do this the night before and bake off right before the party.. drizzle eachone with some olive oil before baking for about 20 minutes on 375 degrees.

spinach pies
frozen wonton or dumpling sheets (either the rond ones or square)
1 package frozen spinach
1 onion
salt and pepper to taste
pine nuts
lemon juice
oil for frying

sautte the onions, and the defrosted spinach in a pan, squeeze out the excess water from the spinach first. add salt, pepper and squeeze of lemon juice.. add the pine nuts.

depending on the sheets ur using, if they are the small round ones, all ur doing is filling one half side and folding over, sealing with water. so you get mini half moons. if your using the big square ones, you want to cut them first into rectangles or squares, and seal approiparty. this can be made ahead of time and frozen (even a week in advance) when your ready just fry them in oil. no need to defrost. you can serve this with a yogurt dill dipping sauce on the side
*ur probably going to have more spinach pie filling left over, which can be used to fill the puff pastries, or you can freeze for future use

zatar bread
buy frozen pizza dough, or fresh from ur favorite pizzeria.
zatar is a spice you can find in any middle eastern store, it basically consists of dried thyme, sumak, sesame, and some other spices..

roll out your dough on a slightly greased cookie sheet to make a long thin rectangle, not a wide one.. so ur not filling the cookie sheet, rub olive oil on top of the dough, generously sprinkle the zatar spice all over it (you can prepare this the night before also)
bake off at 450 degrees for like 5 minutes, watch carefully so you don't burn.. remove it and cut it half long wise then cut into finger sizes.

puff pastry
u can buy frozen puff pastry, let it defrost and roll out an a floured countertop.. add flour to the top also and roll out , cut into squares/rectangles, whatever shape you want them to look at the end,, fill with anything u like, mashed sweet potate, mashed potates, the leftover spinach.. something sweet.. be sure to seal with water, and give it an egg wash before baking.. keep an eye on them.. should be done in 20-25 minutes in a 375 degree oven

chicken winglets
you can buy them as winglets, or buy the family pack of chicken wings and prepare them urself.. take a sharp knife (butcher or chef) and cut at the joints (the top most part that has no meat can be saved to make chicken stock - otherwise trash it) so ur left with two pieces, one boned and two boned. marinate it with ur favorite bottled bbq sauce & a pack of ur favorite goya spice and let sit over night.. the day of, you can bake it or broil them on one big cookie sheet flipping over once

oh and don't forget to make a salad on the side, and maybe one pasta dish

i love girl nights! i need to have one now! have fun..

An awesome make ahead item would be slush-either brandy or vodka. Easy and tasty! Along with that-take some soft taco shelss and spread a mixture of cream cheese, dill, a little ranch, some shredded cheese and diced onion. Roll into a log, cool in fridge for awhile-hour or so, and slice into little finger rolls.
That recipe is so flexible-you could chop up olives, meat, whatever.
