For food lovers a very posh dinner? would you eat this? ?!

Question: For food lovers a very posh dinner!? would you eat this!? !?
Hi there I would just like an opinion on a meal plan!.

1st course -
foie gras served plain with toast with a small side garnish of salad with a dribble of honey and cracked pepper!. (salad would be rocket and wall nut)
with champagne to drink

2nd course
A whole suckling pig slow roasted in a cider and wild mushroom sauce served whole and carved at the table complete with apple in mouth,
roasted potatoes in goose fat
cauliflower cheese made with mixed cheeses
carrot and potato nutmeg creamy mash!.
broccoli
new potatoes
green beans
Yorkshire puddings
selection of red or white wine - what wine do you think would go well with this!?

course 3
A selection of cheese , crackers , chutneys and grapes with port!.

course 4
winter berry pie with cream or ice cream
cherry brandy to drink

course 5
tea and coffee
with mints
and peti fours
(option of more alcohol avaliable)

my questions are
a) would you eat this!?
b) is there any way I could improve anything!?
c) what wine would you choose with pork in a cider sauce!? red or white!? what grape!?
d) would you still serve apple sauce separately!? since the pig will be in cider!?
e) what colour apple would you choose for the pigs mouth!?

Answers:
It sounds great, but real foie gras is a bad idea!. For one, it is inhumane and illegal in some countries! I'm not a huge animal activist (the pig sounds great!) but, foie gras is where I draw the line!. How about sweetmeats!?
Replace the green beans with asparagus, or cook them almondine or with hollandaise!.
Cheeses and chutneys before the pig
maybe make the cauliflower a puree, and omit a starch, like the potatoes!?
instead of apple sauce, perhaps baked apples, or poached pears in red wine!? Red goes well with some cuts of pork, but white would go well with loin portions!.
Add arulula or mesclun mix to the salad, and some goat cheese, feta style,
I would use a green apple, as it is unexpected!. You can core it, add lemon juice, and a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg can be placed in the core!.!.!.yum!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds fantastic, I would eat it in aheart beat, although im not sure if i can eat 5 course:-) I would serve white wine with the pig as you are using cider!. I would serve apple sauce separately!. Red apple, it looks better!.

Yes, it is a good meal!.B= is to heavy since there are 2 kinds of potatoes
plus the yorkshire pudding!.Dry white wine is better!.Yes,some people want an apple sauce separately!.bright red apple!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm a frayed knot!. I would be retching @ the 1st course as I do not care for offal of any variety!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds very elaborate!. I don't think 3 potato dishes are necessary with the pig, especially with Yorkshire pudding too!. And I think the cauliflower with cheese is too heavy; it would be nice & refreshing to have something with orange or lemon zest instead!. A beaujolais or pinot noir would be nice, since it's not too heavy of a red wine; or a robust white Gewurtraminer!. A bright green apple would look nice, and you could always use some red crabapples on the platter

Instead of applesauce, you could have an apple sorbet, as a palate cleanser!.

You might want to add some chocolate covered strawberries with the petit fours!.!.!.!.

And supply pillows and blankets, since your guests will be pretty sleepy after that meal!Www@FoodAQ@Com

a) yes - it sounds great!
b) Not really sure unless you want to work on table settings and such!.!.!.
c) I would choose a kind of sweet grape for the wine something to cut the vinegar!.!.!.anything to tart may just give a sour aftertaste!?
d) Yes!.!.!.I would prefer baked fresh apples though if you are already going through so much trouble - applesauce would seem a little cheap to me after such a spread!.!.!.
e) Bright Red! Red Delicious - a big one!Www@FoodAQ@Com
