What is the best gift to offer a mother after a surgical operation?

Answers:
sioc tong. to be taken everyday with chicken liver. it rejuvenates the blood and is a good tonic.

a visit with some nice bouquet of flower and make sure to stay as long as you are welcome.

A book of personal favors/coupons thatr she can redeem with you. Example: A coupon can be for doing some housework, shopping and such. Whatever you can think of.

A jar of honey roasted nuts

Go for a book of thing she likes or a book of jokes, anything to keep her in "stitches"!

maid service because nothing will get done while she is laid up.

Any and all the help she needs. Offering to cook, clean, etc would be the best thing.

lots and lots of care and concern. i dont think gifts are everything. just let her know and feel that she is being loved loads ;) haha

offer your prayers, see what you can do at her home or for her family, especially if she has children

Does the mom like to collect things? How about getting something she might need like groceries ; or some cooked meals so she doesn't have to prepare anything she can just sit and relax. When my mom had an Aneurism and was in the hospital for 3 months, when she got to go home, I cleaned her house every day, helped cook meals for her, and I also went out and bought her a statute of some wolves cause she collects them. I took her to her physical therapy appointments. Anything simple I know she will truly appreciate. My best to your mom.

Frozen dinners as she will not be able to stand very long. Put them in single serving containers (if she is by herself). Soup was really appreciated after my surgery as your appetite is not good yet. Make sure they are labeled if necessary. Disposable Dishes / Glasses & Silverware - that way, no clean up.

Be careful of any flowers -- if she sneezes, it could hurt her.

Your time. I just went through Thyroid surgery, and all I wanted was time with people I love. Flowers die, and after surgery you don't want to see something die in front of your eyes. Presents are for Birthday's and Christmas. Time is the best thing you can give.

A night of help, dinner, baby sitting, cleaning or anything that she needs, (a nap)!!

Depending on what the surgery was, chocolates generally hit the mark!

Lots of FLOWERS and then a card. You can always make a great gift of- your help-, for when she first gets home....

get friends and neighbors together to make meals for her and her family
