Theme party. any suggestions?!

Question:

Theme party. any suggestions?

it's my 25th bday party, i was thinking about a cocktail party. I'd like to have every guest dressed by a theme, but i would want something easy to get and not expensive.

Answers:
have everyone dress as a homeless person would-
have them instead of birthday gifts-bring their used clothing and food (to be donated to a homeless shelter)

A friend of mine had an 80's theme birthday party. Everyone dressed up in 80's fashion and we listened to 80's music. The clothes were inexpensive, all you had to do was look in the back of your closet or even your mom's closet and find the clothes to wear! A good time was had by all! Good luck and have fun!

I have to suggestions. You could have like a red carpet party and buy cheap rolls of red wrapping paper and place it leading to the place that you are having the party. You could hang up christmas lightt to make it give a little more of a "Hollywood" look. This theme has so many possibilities. Another one is an underwater type party. Party stores sell a bunch of cheap underwater stuff that can be placed everywhere. The underwater theme could also go under the Hawaiin theme. Overall, Hollywood themes are my favorite because people can dress up nice like celebrities.

Fur and feathers is always good fun.

I wanted to do an prom do over for my 30th and just get dolled up in whatever was in my closet. You can do a international theme and people can dress up for all over the world. Do a toga party or just a fun costume party....? Do I hear recycle those Halloween duds? What about a pimps and hoes party? I know it sounds trashy but ladies can be pimps too! You can do a wine party ( trader Joes has cheap wine). You could also let the movies gear your theme. Happy Birthday!

well i think that u could have a Hollywood theme party and everyone could dress up as celebrites.then u could put up a red carpet on the way and buy some looking awards or some cool gifts.so when u have some games whoever is the winner at the end of the party call them to the stage and give them an award.or if u want u could try to have a magical party with every one dressed as fairies, elves, dwarfs etc.everything would be magical

have a cinarella ball, we don't dress up enough

What about a Hawaiian theme, or an Egyptian Theme, or how about a movie character theme where people can dress up like their favorite character. ( my company's retreat we did that and I had dressed up ad Dorothy from Wizard of OZ. Didn't cost much to get it together, most of the posters were bought for $1.00 at a Family dollar Store., or how about a theme on cowboys and indians, or maybe a theme about princesses long ago where they would wear those cone hats with some fabric flowing from the hat. Happy Birthday.

For a cocktail party, have them dress in cocktail attire. I am assuming that most women have a little black dress and most men have suits. I did this a few years back for an Xmas get together and it was fun to "dress up" LOL

how bout a gypsy costume party or a pirates theme?? we had it once, and it was fun!

go for the hawiian beachy theme--that is always fun

disco parties are always fun not only for the attire but the music can "Shake your Groove Thang"

Fiesta parties are fun! We had one over the summer...we served tacos and margaritas...simple, cheap and a lot of fun! You can play mexican music, and people can wear those straw sombraros...

Heroes and Villains

I think your objection is to be comfortable eh? Ok so why not have a country/western party? Everyone has boots, jeans and flannels. Cowboy hats can be purchased for a lil of nothing (just buy the inexpensive straw hats for anyone not having one at a local party supply store having a few extra on hand never hurts and can be stored easily for later use) Todays country music is pretty hot and you can get an instructional line dancing video (it'll get everyone participating) Make chicken, baked beans, cole slaw (all quick and easy) Girls can wear jeans or skirts (yup even with their boots) I've actually been to a western part and it was the best I mean FANTASTIC. Bails of hay, makeshift saloon bar, everyone was line dancing ALOT fo fun and of course theres always the option of a few indians lol, theres a lot of creativity in the western theme. Happy birthday and good luck.
