Question:

Throwing a big first bithday party bash?

i need ideas on throwing a really big party for my daughters first birthday i want it to be the biggest but i dont know what to do like the theme or what without being lame

Answers:
Wait until she's old enough to appreciate it. At her age, just having a cake, mother and father singing "Happy Birthday" and a couple of inexpensive presents to unwrap will thrill her just as much. Put the money you would have blown into her college/wedding fund.

Under the sea goes over really well.

go to birthdayexpress.com fpr themes, or just do a search for birthday ideas on google

Don't bother wait unitl she is older

I know your really wanting to do this right...but.....she isnt going to remember it...she is too young. The people who will remember is you..her dad and the other guests.
You have the rest of her life to show her how much you love her.....save your money and have a nice dinner with guests to enjoy her birth. A big party isn't going to impress your daughter.....just the adults.
Congratulations on her 1st B-Day !!!!

What about a fun carnival theme? You could have carnival food like hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, candy apples, nachos, funnel cake, etc. Set up games for the kids to play like a ring toss, bean bag toss, duck pond pull, balloon darts, etc. Maybe even hire a clown for the day, or have a good friend of yours do it. If they don't know how to make animal balloons, they could just hand out helium balloons on a string. I think the possibilities are endless, it would just be up to you on how you wanted everything to work.

You could even do something like Candy Land come to life. Make a path around the yard like the colored squares on the game. The kids could play games at each place you have designated like on the gameboard. I don't remember them all, but there's like a Lollipop Acres, Grandma Brittle, and others. You could also fill up baggies of candy and hide them around. Then have the kids search for them like easter eggs.

I hope that you have a great time with whatever you choose!

Just went thru this last month. We wanted to go"all out" for her 1st. Then when reality came around, who were we trying to impress, our family?? our friends?? We just wanted people to get together and help us celebrate. We had pizzas for the kids and barbequed for the adults. We did have a pinata and gave out goodie bags to the kids. When she gets old enough to be excited about her birthday, then we will go mildly crazy :)

You seriously need to stop worrying about what other people think of you. That's what this is all about. Your daughter is not even going to remember her 1st birthday. Do something fun and simple. You don't need to throw the "Biggest" party for a 1-year old.

i dunno some kids tv show maybe....

Many people will agree too much will only freak her out. lol I tried this with my oldest but it didn't go over well at all he was way to overwhelmed. I would invite around 5 - 10 children at best and go with a mermaid / Ariel theme. Don't get to much going because for one she will never understand half. At this age turning on the music (age appropriate of course, Disney songs are ALWAYS great) and letting them dance is most entertaining (they love when parents join in). I would definitely save the birthday "blow out" till the 5 year when they can REALLY enjoy it . Keep it simple as yet or you'll find your throwing yourself a party lol.
