Would you buy a BBQ sauce made with grape jelly?!

Question:

Would you buy a BBQ sauce made with grape jelly?

And why/ why not? I think it's pretty good. i mean, it's not only grape jelly,it's got other stuff in it. (otherwise it would be just "grape jelly") My friend has an old family recipe thet she's thinking about selling in major grocery stores. Just wanted your opinion and why (or why not).

Love it!! My parents have always added grape jelly to BBQ sauce as well as when making lil smokies and meatballs! You can't taste the grape jelly tho, so I'm not sure why they use it. But it's great and will always use grape jelly in it. I don't think I would try strawberry jam or jelly tho!!!!

I'm not a fan of Jelly generally so I would pass on the jelly bbq sauce.

um proabably not, it would be awkward i men u except that to taste like bbq sauce not jelly..unless ah weelll i don't know

Sure. I mean if grape jelly was the main ingredient, I don't know that I'd use it. However, I can totally see grape jelly as one of the ingredients in a BBQ sauce. It'd add sweetness as well as a bit of acidity which is what you'd want in a BBQ sauce. Like I said though, if grape was the main ingredient and was a major flavor, I don't know about it.

I have had hot sauve with grape jelly in it, I actually made it. Jelly was not the main ingredient and it added sweetness to the very spicy hot sauce, it was great. You really couldn't tell that the sweetness was grape jelly...it gave the sauce a finish of sweet. So Yes, I would buy it.

sure would ..it would put alil sweat flavor in it and give it a whole new taste

I might. I have a recipe that calls for BBQ sauce and grape jelly, would save a step! lol

I wouldn't buy it, just because I don't care for BBQ sauce at all. But I hear that's the new hot item.

Yes i would. I would love the recipe too! Good luck to your friend

The sauce I use in making meatballs for the holidays involves bbq sauce and grape jelly. I would use it for meatballs and wings, but probably wouldn't use it on anything else.

Yes, I would want to try it. I made peach bbq sauce once and it was great. Pork, especially, does well with sweet, fruity flavors. Tell your friend to be sure and put some great recipe ideas on the outside of the label to encourage the experimenters! I think jalepeno jelly would be great too!

I would. I love the recipe for L'il Smokie sausages that you fix in the crock pot with barbeque sauce and grape jelly mixed together.

The jelly doesn't overwhelm the barbeque sauce and gives it a nice sweet tang. I hope your friend's recipe goes over great! :-)

chili sauce and grape jelly makes BBQ sauce!
that's what I cook my party kielbasa in and everyone loves it!

i would as long as it had a little kick to it and not to sweet stonewall kitchen in Maine has some fruit BBQ sauces just test the sugar levels to much sugar in the sauce will burn on the food when grilled

I eat peanut butter and bacon sandwiches, so I would try BBQ and grape jelly!

Yes I would buy it. In fact I have mixed BBQ sauce with grape jelly for meatballs and it is very good.
