Assuming no one has dietary restrictions (or is a vegetarian); and assuming you will try this menu out ahead-of-time, these can all be done ahead so that you can spend time with them!.!.!.

SPINACH DIP (follow the recipe on the Knorr vegetable soup, but put it into a hollowed out sourdough round; wrap in foil and refrigerate overnight) - serve with sliced baguettes or water crackers

GREEN SALAD - 2 bags of mixed baby greens, drained can of mandarin oranges, sliced red onion & carmelized sliced almonds (stirfry in sugar until sugar melts & coats the nuts - do ahead) - toss with a good bottled Balsamic Vignarette or Girard's Champagne dressing

(plae the slices with lots of parsley on the platter)!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. This can be served hot, room temp or cold - DO AHEAD - You should probably make 2 of these (leftovers make good sandwiches)

DOUBLE BAKED POTATOES !.!.!.!.Bake a big potato for each person in the oven (wrap in foil & poke first) until soft!. Slice the top off and gently scoop out the insides!. Mash the insides with lots of butter, shredded cheese (whatever you like), salt & pepper; and restuff the potato shells!. Dot with butter; sprinkle with parsley & paprika!. I would prepare something you have cooked before!. I am sure you will be nervous!. You don't want to be trying out a new recipe!. Maybe lasagna so you can make it ahead of time and you will have plenty of time to socialize!.If your boyfriend likes to grill!. He could grill some meats and you can make the sides!. This would take some pressure off you!. You could always join him by the grill for a private update of how things are going!. Make sure you have some munchies or when they arrive so thing don't get awkward!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

this sounds kinda gross, but i promise it is the easiest chicken dish you will ever cook - -

you will need one half boneless chicken breast per person (buy three whole breasts and cut them in half), two cans of cranberry sauce, and a big bottle of french salad dressing!. mix the cranberry sauce and the salad dressing together and marinate the chicken in the stuff overnight!.

bake the chicken in the oven with about 1/3 of the marinade!.

yeah - it sounds weird, but it is really, really good and pretty!

when i make this, i usually serve it with a great salad, steamed veggies (broccoli or cauliflower) and rice or a baked potato!.

dessert is simple because this is a rich meal - - usually i make an apple pie!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You said you're a good cook, then do cook something you've cooked before!. Think about the best dish you made!. But also be sure that no one's allergic with the ingredients you used!.

Good luck! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well, first off, are both your parents and his parents pretty open to eating most things!? For example if I were in your position I wouldn't cook anything too weird because my mom is a VERY picky eater, she doesn't like almost any veggies, seafood, or mexican or chinese food!. So I would stay more along the lines of meatloaf, chicken breast and rice, spag!. stuff like that!.

Next, if you know that your parents are pretty laid back about what they eat and you know that his mom or dad really love a certain dish or dessert, go with that!. As long and your mom and dad will generally enjoy it and his parents will go wild for it, that would be the best!.

I would serve a small "dinner salad" before the meal!.

Next I would choose an entree like Cheeseburgers, or Spag!., maybe fettachini, breaded catfish, anything that is a crowd pleaser!.

Lastly I would finish with homemade brownies or peach cobbler, something most people enjoy!.

Another really good idea would be to find out everyones fav food!. For example find out your dad's fav!. appetizer, your mom's fav meal, his moms fav side and his dad's fav dessert!.

It would be very neat for everyone to see something that they especially love there and I think they would feel pretty special :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

long as you keep ur legs closed during dinner im sure you'll be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
