I drive limos and have done lots of 16th birthdays and 15th for hispanics....it seems that the kids really love this and usually they end up at the mall for a while, then maybe a few other place and at the end of it they usually get dropped off somewhere for dinner...however, it's a limo drivers nightmare if the birthday person is extremely immature....3 hours is a nice amount of time
A narcotics theme would be recieved well with the adolesents in my area. It would work best if free drugs, alcohol, or free condoms were supplied.

Maybe something where they update or design a new page. This can involve them using digital cameras to take photo's of one another to upload for their pages. Kids that have a laptop to bring can bring their laptop. I have a wireless network in my home, so kids could access the internet from my home. There could be prizes for different categories, "Best overall", "Best song", "Best slideshow", "Best layout", etc. Just a thought, but maybe not practical, depending on how "techy" the family is. I also have an attachment I got from Best Buy, that allows me to bring up my computer screen on my TV. Some parents are against myspace. You might be one of them,which would nullify this suggestion. But if you are not opposed, at least this would allow you some guidance over the creation of the page-- you could require the kids to set the page to "private", etc. You'd probably have to clear this with the guests' parents first, as well.
