Need advice on decorating and recipes for a Fall/Halloween Themed Baby Shower?!

Question: Need advice on decorating and recipes for a Fall/Halloween Themed Baby Shower!?
Hi everyone,
I was hoping I could turn to all of you and get ideals for decorating (on a budget) a Halloween/Fall Themed baby shower coming up Oct!. 18th!?
We are looking for a mixture of Fall and Halloween (cute and a little scary here and there) and Baby!.
The place the baby shower will be held is a small 2 story house in a country setting (lots of land and privacy)!. The living room in this house has vaulted slanted ceilings (no flat ceiling like traditionally seen) with the high high walls and a partially open area to the upstairs!. So, it would be hard to hang anything from the ceiling where it is so tall and slanted!.
Here is what we have come up with so far: Garland on the stairway banisters (seen as you come in the front door) possibly with orange/purple or white lights, pumpkins, gourds, streamers, balloons (of course) and for a nice large centerpiece for the main food table; a lighted vase with dead Branch's sticking out in all sizes (painted black with purple glitter)!.!.!. Other than that we are stuck and don't know what else to try to add a nice "mood" to everything!.

We are, also, looking for recipes that one might use for such an occassion!.
Any help is greatly appreciated!.
Thanks

I'd skip the "scary" things and concentrate on Fall Harvest - pumpkins of all sizes around; baskets of apples; cornstalks; little bales of hay; scarecrows; Indian corn!. If you can find a wooden wheelbarrow, that would look good with various colors & sizes of pumpkins in it, with bushels of apples and potted mum plants around it!. You can use those plastic pumpkins the kids take to trick-or-treat, and stick bunches of artificial mums in them too !.!.!.Avon usually has different fiber-optic Halloween things available

Caramel dip with apples; Pumpkin dip with graham crackers, ginger snaps, apples & pears; Veggie platter (could color the dip orange) !.!.!. Tea sandiches of chicken, tuna, egg and/or ham salad (cut with a pumpkin cookie cutter); green salad with choice of dressings; pasta salad; fruit salad !.!.!.!.!. Spice cake with caramel frosting; cheesecake with apples or cranberries; assorted Halloween cookies !.!.!.!.!. Orange punch (or apple cider & 7-Up) (put some dry ice in it to create a fog flowing out)

PUMPKIN DIP
1 8-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
2 c!. powdered sugar
1 15-oz!. can pumpkin pie filling
1 tsp!. cinnamon
1/2-1 tsp!. ground ginger
apple, pear slices; gingersnaps, graham crackers to dip
Beat cream cheese & sugar at med!. speed with electric mixer until smooth!. Add everything else and beat well!. Cover & chill 8 hours !.!.!.!.!.!. UNBELIEVABLY GOOD!

You could make little baby ghost with either pink or blue ribbons tied around their "necks" and maybe hang them from something, even if its on the trees outside!. You should be able to find those little white plastic ghost that people use by now in the store's seasonal sectionsWww@FoodAQ@Com

buy a cauldron and put dry ice in it then set a metal bowl with a red punch with gummy worms on it!.The ice will smoke and makes a awesome halloween treat if you cant find a cauldron use a big cast iron dutch oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I saw this and thought it was adorable!. You can make favors for the party out of brown paper bags cut longways in strips leave one inch at the bottom, take a small stick from the yard and wrap the top of the bag around the stick with a ribbon, then you made witches broom stick party favors!. Or, you can use them for decorations!.

You can make bat and pumpkin sandwiches using cookie cutters, make little cakes with orange and purple baby booties on them, get colored M&M with Its a boy or girl on them, you can make broomstick celery and carrots by making small slits at the top of the carrots and celery!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
