Hi, I'm having my baby's first birthday and i don't know what to do first during the party!. Should I serve the food right away follow by games and then the party favor, the pi?ata and finally the cake!. I'm trying to find a guide or a step by step list to keep my guest occupied!. Please help me!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

People love food!. I'd have some finger foods out when people arrive, like chips and dip, mini-sandwiches, etc!. If you're going to do hot food, I'd bring that out after people start arriving so it doesn't go cold, maybe about half and hour or 15 minutes into people arriving!. Leave food out during the party, people will go back for more!

Wait to do games until after people have all arrived and have had some food!. The pinata could be part of the games!. Then, I suggest serving cake and coffee right before opening presents (if you're going to do that at the party) so people have something to munch on while watching presents opened!.

I think it's best to set the favors out on a table or something by the door so that people who leave early get one and so you don't have to track people down as they're leaving to give favors!. You can make a sign to hang over the table that says something like "don't forget your favor!"

Each party is different so it's important to just read your guests to make sure no one is just hanging around!. You'll know when is the best time to move on when there is a bit of a lull in action!.

Good luck and happy first birthday to your baby!!

I think first you should just let guest talk for a little while most of the people get there!. Then you could start off by playing some games!. After some games people will be hungry so you could serve the food and maybe play some music while people are eating and talking!. Then you can do the pinata when everybody is finished eating!. After the pinata get everybody to go over to the cake for the singing and such!. While everybody is eating the cake you can go open up presents so that everyone can eat cake and see what your child got!. I like to end things giving the party favors because this is usually when people start leaving!. Hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm assuming your having little kids there right!?

When guests arrive, have some chips, drinks, and something the little ones can snack on too, like goldfish, or something like that!.
Then just let people mingle a little bit, and after about 1 hr!. serve the main meal!. this normally takes up a 1/2 hr to an 1hr!. Depending on what type of food it is, and how you serve it!.
After that it might be a good idea if you go after the presents!. Then comes the cake, then the pinata and the party favors!. any order is just fine, make it fit your schedule!. normally if you have friends come that are somewhat acquainted with each other, they normally will talk and get along fine, with out you entertaining them every second of the party!.
Good luck, and have fun, don't be stressed out, otherwise your child's first party will be a nightmare for you! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
