Office Party?!

Question:

Office Party?

Our office is very small and very close. I am looking for a unique holiday party idea. Aprox. 9 people all over 21 and living with 15 miles of each other. We don't want the normal rental spot in a bar or restaurant.

Answers:
Twilight or Cosmic bowling
Indoor high speed go-cart racing
Potluck at someone's home
Catered at someone's home
Dave and Buster's
Fondue restaurant
Country line dancing and casual eats

House party

rent out a small ballroom and do a kareoke theme

Even if all nine people come, and bring dates, you could accomodate all of those people in your home. Just get some money out of petty cash, or ask everyone to chip in $10, and buy a couple bottles of wine, some appetizers, and have some Christmas music on hand. It'll be a blast.

Someone could hold a Mystery dinner at their house. It's pretty fun. Here's how it works... Your guests are given a mysterious menu for dinner in 5 courses. Their choices are revealed when served.

Dinner Rules Given to Guest:
* You will be served 5 courses containing 5 items in the order selected.
* We insist each course be finished before the next is served.
* Place 5 ones (#1) by the first course items, 5 twos (#2) by the second course items and so on.
* No number may be eliminated or used more than once.
* All utensils and food will be removed after each course.
* Don't worry about etiquette - it's impossible!

Each person picks 5 things from the below menu. (they have no idea what each means, so for a dinner they could have water, napkin and olives, but not silverware. It could be fun)

Example Menu

1. Jersey's Best 2. Steamed Glacier 3. Irish Eyes 4. Divided Branches 5. Exotic Blubber
6. Pucker Power 7. Jack 8. Sailor's Crumbs 9. Degreaser 10. Beau's Dream
11. Rolling Stones 12. Old Remedy 13. Lover's Delight 14. Bats and Balls 15. Palate's Paradise
16. Autumn Leaves 17. Farmer's Alarm 18. Perfect Pitch 19. Soaker 20. Cat's Eyes
21. Devil's Horns 22. Golden Rods 23. Pine Forest 24. Liquid Gold 25. Cool Conclusion

Planning Tips:
* When sending invitations ask for an RSVP so you know exactly how many will attend.
* Copy enough menus so each guest has one. Put guest's name at top.
* Plan on atleast one server for every four people as each meal will be different.
* Use paper plates, cups, bowls, silverware as they will be thrown out after each course.
* Take your time serving ... enjoy the suspense.

Actual Menu

1. Ice Cream 2. Water 3. Baked Potato 4. Fork 5. Jell-O
6. Pickle 7. Knife 8. Crackers 9. Napkin 10. Spoon
11. Meatballs 12. Chicken Soup 13. Candy Kiss 14. Carrot sticks & Peas 15. Cupcake
16. Salad 17. Chicken 18. Fork 19. Napkin 20. Olives
21. Fork 22. Spaghetti 23. Toothpick 24. Orange Juice 25. Milk

I have always wanted to try it,~! Please let me know your results if anyone tries it.

Google mystery dinner, some better info. One lady I work with has done this and said it's a great time and funny!

house party

Try having it at one of your homes. Have everyone bring something kinda like a potluck or have it catered. That makes it more personable.

If you have a close place to cater the food, that is a great way, providing there is enough room at your office.
Everyone can bring their own drinks...

HI!

Why not have it at someones home and everybody bring a dish and just sit and visit and have fun together!

Have a Christmas Pajama Party. Tell everyone - "since you are so tired getting ready for Christmas - just come in your jammies for a relaxing, fun party." Then serve pizza, beer, sodas, popcorn, cookies, ice cream (basically slumber party foods).

Play games - especially ones with whole group participation. End with dessert and coffee/hot cocoa/cider or eggnog.

For party favors - hand out tiny bags with an envelope of Hershey's Good Night Cocoa, a candy cane stirrer, and a sleep mask. Small blue sacks would be pretty - and you could write with a silver paint pen - "Wishing you sweet dreams and moon beams."
