We have a potluck at work on Friday and I need ideas on what to bring?!

Question:

We have a potluck at work on Friday and I need ideas on what to bring?

Something simple and easy to make. There about 30 people. This food will be out all day.

Answers:
A casserole. Everybody always brings salads, so your dish will be a big hit. It can be covered with foil and be fine all day.

A CAKE OR COOKIES. BAKED BEANS IN A CROCK POT IS ALSO GOOD.

how about some kush......mmmmm.....kush.....i love, love, love kuuussshhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

There are so many great things you can bring for potlucks... we have potluck suppers at church all the time. Some of my fav. things to bring are - green bean casserole (super easy - mix green beans, can of cream of mush soup, durkey onions in casserole dish, cook on 350 for 25 min. until bubbly & brown), baked beans w/ bbq sauce, onions, can of crushed tomatoes - bake these ingredients in casserole dish for 25 min @350 until bubbly, also you can bring cresent roll stuffed w/ ham & cheese w/ ranch dip on the side, or a quick dessert always goes over like a hit... bring some brownies, cookies or cupcakes... just to name a few things. If all else fails, get a veggie platter from your local produce aisle & some ranch dip, no one can resist this. GL & HTH

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
6 green onions (scallions); chopped
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 (2 1/4 oz.) can sliced olives; drained
2 (16 oz.) bottles creamy Italian salad dressing

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water. In a large bowl, combine pasta, broccoli, cauliflower, peas and carrots, tomatoes, Parmesan, onions, green pepper and olives. Add the dressing; mix well. Cover and refrigerate 2-3 hours or until chilled.

pot with a little luck

little smokies in a small crock pot
nothing too complicated...desserts and snacks

Don't bring anything with mayonnaise-that will go bad and people will get sick.

I like to get a big bag of frozen meatballs-borrow a crock pot if you don't have one. Dump the meatballs in the crock pot-cover with 1 20oz jar of BBQ sauce-nothing too sweet-more smokey.

Mix in one large spoonful of grape jelly. Mix well-turn crock pot on to warm to slowly heat meatballs-they should be sweet and salty warm before your lunch.

Cheesy potatoes or go to Bakers or Walmart and get some fried chicken. Meat is always a hit!

Bring different types of samosas, that's what I always bring to potlucks...people seem to love them and they come in tons of different flavors to satisfy everyones tastes.

Bring something in a crockpot that way it stays hot.

Chili?

A dessert is always popular. Once I layered cake crumbs, pudding, chocolate chips and cool whip in a bowl. I was low on cash and used what I had in the house. I swear.. people still rave about it and i'm not sure why.

paper plates and napkins? that's what my mom always signed me up at school to bring LOL

I bring this to all my potluck events and always get request for the recipe. Super easy, can be made the night before and just heat it up while you are getting ready for work. Also, can be reheated in the microwave at work...

Chicken Tortilla Casserole
1 small package corn tortillas
2 cans chopped green chilies or salsa verde
2 cups grated cheese (Monterrey jack, cheddar, whatever you have)
1 cup milk
1 cup cooked chicken breast cubed or as much as you want
(If you are not a cook, use a can or 2 of chicken)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup

Dilute cream of mushroom with milk, add chicken to mixture. Layer torn up tortillas (1/2 package) on bottom of 13x9 baking dish. 1 can green chilies, 1/2 milk mixture, 1/2 of cheese. Repeat layer process. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbling. Can be served with salsa, sour cream and jalapenos.

I could probably make this in the time it took to type this.

I would bring crudites and cheese cubes and crackers.

Sam's and Costco have these terrific cheeses. Also get some great crackers and viola!

Out all day? That's tough because then it can't be perishable or hot. How about making a pasta salad the night before using a red wine dressing and mixing in sliced roasted peppers (from a jar), tomatoes, chopped cucumbers and onions?

Seven Layer Bean Dip is always a good dish to bring to a potluck and it can be sat out all day...Hope this helps...

Out all day is not good. I would definitely go with something in a crock pot and keep it on LOW. check it every so often for moisture. The meatball idea is good, so is the enchilada casserole - both can be kept in a crock pot.
Others: (also in crock pot)
Baked beans
Mac & Cheese
Con Queso & tortilla chips
Chili & Beans w/crackers on the side (tortillas would get dry)
Tamales (leave in husks and just steam on low all day)
Any favorite cassarole of yours can be made ahead and then transferred to the crock pot.
