Christmas Open House Ideas?!

Question:

Christmas Open House Ideas?

I'm throwing my 2nd Christmas Open House Party and the 1st one went pretty well but I'd like to kick it up a notch this year. Areas I'm hoping to improve in are: decorating, food, and gift ideas. Last year I made mini banana bread loaves and put them in cute ceramic Christmas themed bread pans that I found for $1 each at Garden Ridge Pottery. I'd like to do something different though this year. Thanks!

Fritattas are quick and easy to make---bite size ones made in muffin tins are great for open house type parties. (google for a variety of recipes...)

for decoration---fill up clear vases with cranberries to about 3/4 full and put in a candle inside a glass candle holder. hang felt stockings (they look really nice with a very homemade, old fashioned look---big stitching and not "perfect" looking) and fill with candy for people to help themselves to, instead of using serving bowls

as far as gifts go--- the stockings that the candies are in can be given out or preserve jars filled with the dry ingredients to make christmas cookies with the recipe attached on a decorative card and christmas coloured ribbons.

give them each stockings filled with candy and stuff in it and put their name on it

well decorate with green reefs and for the foid chirtsmas cookies and chicken and rice and mash potatoes hot choclte and a cake. gift just get godie baskets and raffle them off

make it halloween themed. theres no better way to get rid of company than to ack like a freak. its different AND it steps it up a knotch.

make gingerbread men in Christmas outfits

Decorating - Go with a theme such as Snowmen/women
Christmas Bears, Santa Claus, Snowflakes, Christmas flowers, and garland. Then Decorate Each room in a theme.

If you are having your party on a Sunday - You could try a Brunch, ( you can make up egg Benedictine )great drink to serve with the brunch is champagne and cranberry juice or orange juice, also with the other fixings, such as warm brie and cranberries cheese.

As a small gift ,have you thought of a Christmas ornament, you can personalize these but purchasing plain bulbs and writing the persons name on it or make a pattern (snowflakes or something like that) with glue and rolling then in sparkles.

You could also have a skating party afterwards for all whom wish to participate

I had a party last year and made all my guests a music CD of fun and upbeat holiday songs.
