Office party food?!

Question:

Office party food?

My co-workers occasionally have office parties. I work in somewhat of an isolated part of the office and am usually the last one to hear about these shindigs. What's something I can keep on hand to bring in to work that's somewhat impressive but super quick when I have very little time to prepare?

Since the food may be in your drawer for quite a while before being used, how about a package of crackers, cheese in a can, and a jar each of green olives and cocktail onions. Buy a decorative plastic serving plate for those special times.

Squiggle the cheese on the cracker and top with an olive or onion.

If you want to make it even more special, buy a doily to fit on the serving piece.

try this

Melt a few cholate bars down until they are very creamy.
Cut up some fruit like ( strawberries, bananas, melons, ect)
get these metal kinda spike sticks and use them to pick up the friut . Dip in chololate and enjoy.

Note keep chololate warm and creamy and never mind the mess its worth it.

ro-tel and chili and cheese.mix them to together to make a dip...and get some chips..

Considering you said "bring into work", I must assume that you can fix something the evening before.
I use a crab dip recipe w/whatever crackers you have in the pantry. I prefer the Triscuits with this.
The Crab Dip is really easy.
1 stick butter
1 cup onion diced ( I ususally do half green onions and half sweet yellow onion)
Melt butter and onions in microwave
Add 1 8 oz package cream cheese
1 can of crab meat
2 tsp. Tabasco
Season to taste (salt)

Stir and serve

You can reheat in the same glass bowl when the party starts

Bruschetta and melba toast

since you need to keep something on hand and ready. buy a frozen cheese cake .use a nice serving tray or dish..

You can keep some frozen samosas and just fry those up real quick

Chocolate Rasberry swirl cheese cake -frozen from Sams club for around $15.00

I like to make olive tapenade. It is easy to make and a huge hit!

Chop fairly fine:
two cans of black olives
one jar of green olives
about four sun dried tomatoes
one garlic clove
MIx together.

Add:
1/4 of good olive oil
1tblesp sugar
dash of pepper
dash of garlic powder
dash of onion powder
dash of basil
dash of oregano
dash of parsley

Let it marinate overnight in fridge.

Serve with awesome crackers or pita chips.

You will be the hero of the office!

I make ranch cresent roll apitizers they are a big hit around the holidays
I take 2 packages of cresent rolls and lay them flat in a baking pan and bake until lightly brown
while that is cooking
I take 1 1/2 pkgs cream cheese 1/2 envelope of ranch dip mix and 1/3 cup mayo and mix all together
When your cresent is cool spread mixture onto it and top with cut up green and red pepper. Then cut and place on a serving dish and there you have it pop it in the fridge for and hr or so and bring them to work or make them the night before and bring them in they are actually better if you give them some time in the fridge

Keep in your fridge

Cocktail pickle onions in two or three colours
Stuffed Olives (fetta stuffed are my fav)
Sundried tomatos in a jar
Camembert Cheese or simlar
Salami or kabana in a vacuum sealed wrapper

Keep in your cupboard -

A box of Jatz bikkies

Stick them all on a flat platter 5 minutes before you go. All This stuff lasts for months in the fridge so it wont go off if you don't have a partyy for a while.

vamped up ranch dip. buy hidden valley ranch dip packet. add sour cream as directed, but also add real bacon bits/pieces and shredded cheddar cheese. it makes a harty dip great for crackers, veggies, or thick cut chips.
