Dinner for two...ideas please!?!
Me and my friend are having a girls night in tonight after work and I am in charge of getting the food and the wine!. It needs to be as cheap and healthy as possible and something that can be prepared quickly and easily!.
Whenever we have tea together we nearly always have baked potatoes so I'm trying to think outside the box!.!.
Any ideas!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

That sounds like fun! (Are you in England!? If so, this will reach you too late for dinner!.)
I suggest spaghetti w/meat sauce, a salad, garlic bread, red wine and a dessert/pudding!.
Not sure if this is available outside the US, but anyway:
Brown ground turkey (or beef) w/green pepper, onion & garlic!. Add to it a bottled tomato sauce!. Serve over whole wheat pasta!.
On the side, a very simple salad, say 3 ingredients or so, w/vinaigrette dressing!.
For the garlic bread, just toast whatever bread you have on hand, brush it w/olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder over the top!.
Get whatever red wine you like!.
For dessert, maybe some sugar free jello or pudding made w/skim milk!.
Have a great time!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pasta and salads are always cheap options, and fairly nutritious!.
If you're in for something different, why not pick out a sweetish bottle of champagne (like BareFoot or Ballatore) around $10!. My menu to go with it would be:
- oven toasted french bread and fresh (make or buy) basil-nut pesto (bread is about $1, pesto is about $4)
- caprese salad with roasted italian sausage (fresh tomato sliced with fresh basil, mozarella cheese, & tomatoes on lettuce with vinegrette, topped with sliced sausage) (total cost is under $15)
- proscuitto wrapped melon balls with table grapes (total cost is under $5) and a few chocolates!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
