A BIG TIP: go to a wal-mart supercenter or a warehouse club like Sam's Club or BJ's!. They'll have the most bang for your buck!. Try to do without getting name brands for your what you're getting; you'll save tons more and once opened and served, your guests really won't know the difference!. also don't be afraid to use the spices you have at home and mix up the recipes a notch!

CHICKEN MARINADE INGREDIENTS: 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup cooking wine, 1 tbsp sugar, 3 cloves of garlic thinly sliced (or use garlic powder - the amount is up to you and your tastes), 1/2 tsp pepper (or more if you like), 1/2 tsp paprika, and a dash of cayenne pepper [NOTE: you don't have to use all these ingredients or in the quantity they're listed but try and work with whatever spices you have to create your own marinade so long as you have the key ingredients: soy sauce, garlic, sugar, and pepper!. This is only a small batch of marinade so you will have to make more depending on how much chicken you have!. Have enough so that you can use leftover marinade to brush over the chicken as you are grilling it (make sure it's a clean batch that hasn't touched uncooked chicken though)!.]

CHICKEN SKEWER INGREDIENTS: chicken, onion, green pepper, zucchini, pineapple!. Cut the chicken in thin slices and let it sit in the marinade overnight!.

Set the wooden skewers in water for about a half hour before you put it all together (this will prevent the skewers from burning up quickly on the grill)!. Assemble your kebabs, brushing more marinade as you need!.

COOK UP SOME RICE! Get one of those Zatarain's or Rice-a-Roni boxes and serve up some flavorful rice on the side!. Plus side, a couple of those boxes should be enough as a side dish and it's cheap!

MAKE YOUR OWN DRINKS! Make some homemade lemonade, iced tea, etc!. but make it different by adding in some strawberries or lime for flavor!.

Other things to consider!.!.!.
- turn the night into a potluck party!. This way other guests can bring in food and there will be tons to go around!.
- stroll down Wal-mart (it's the cheapest of grocery stores by far although the selections may not be that diverse) and see what other quick one-item side dishes you can make

Well, I hope some of these tips help! Don't let these downers discourage you!!!! Not everyone can throw lavish parties but it's the thought that counts and I'm sure your hubby will very much appreciate it :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think you can do a party on any budget! - all that really matters are that you have your friends and family around you to celebrate!. It's better to have family and friends and less money than to have lots of money but no friends!

Make lots of sandwiches as they are cheap to make!. Buy marshmallows and everyone can use the skewers to toast them on the bonfire - cheap easy but very rememorable and effective!

Hope you and your fiance have a nice party!. x Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you want to stay under budget, try this,go to your local supermarket and get a very cheap pork roast, put it in a slow cooker, with some shredded onion, and let it cook for about 8 hours, when done take out and shred with forks, add bbq sauce to it and warm in slow cooker, have some buns,so everyone can get their own bun,its so good and cheap, and ask everyone if they would bring a salad or something to the dinner thats the only way to go,get some to bring salads and some others to bring chips etc and byob, but you can have coffee tea or juice there good luck and have fun!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If your heart is set on chicken then at least consider baking it in the oven! Once you purchase all the chicken pieces you will need and are ready for the big day you speak of here is what i like to do with my chicken pieces ! Dip chicken pieces in to a big enough bowl of melted butter!.!.once this step is done and you now have all those chicken pieces melted in butter and in the proper pan now!.!.!.sprinkle lightly with all of the following, salt, garlic powder, pepper, paprika, and parsley!.and bake in oven for 45 minutes!.!.it helps to rotate chicken after so long from top rack to bottom rack though !.!.and do check to make sure it is done!.!.!.suggestions to go along with the chicken would be the local grocery stores have some boxed brands of wonderful pasta salads that are so quick and simple!.!.(but must be, done the day before to chill ,and inexpensive especially at save a lot grocery stores) As for dessert's many groceries have great quick and simple cheese cake mixes to whip up!.!.and so many wonderful other store bought desserts!.!.As for beverages you know what you want and what he likes!.!.and good luck!! hope this has helped!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All you can hope for on that budget is hotdogs by the time you buy soda, condiments, and make a dessert!. Not much left for anything sensational!.!.!.!. Maybe you have something in the freezer you can pull like chicken or a roast or chops!. Then you could make a pretty good meal! A baked potato bar would be good with fixins and a couple casseroles!.!.

You could also make your own pizza dough with yeast cheap!. Make several and buy some sausage, burger, lots of cheese, onions peppers and make a pizza party!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

How about fajitas! You will need tortillas, fajita seasoning packet, peppers and onions!. The directions on the package are simple but, I usually cook my chicken the day before, cool and refrigerate!. Next day I cut peppers and onions into strips and saute with the season packet!. I then dice the chicken and add it when the other is almost done!. You'll need to heat the tortillas but the directions should guide you well!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

smoked sausage, can be made into sausage dogs or eaten alone with sauce, baked beans, pasta salad

chicken fajitas or skewers go a long way, serve with beans and rice and chips and salsa!.

large sirloin steak or roast (purchase on sale), marinated and grilled, then sliced thin and add veggies and potatoesWww@FoodAQ@Com

Have a potluck!. Have some people bring beer, some bring pop, some bring salad, some bring dessert, etc!.

Choose one thing you'll provide!. For example, the entree!. Buy buns and meat and condiments for the BBQ!. OR have someone else bring that and you provide the dessert!.

The only way you'll feed that many people well is if you have them help you!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

kabobs!.!.!.pineapple, chicken, bell peppers, onions, red potatoes!.!.!.!.!.then put a sweet BBQ sauce on!.!.!.!.!.Make a big salad too!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
