TURKEY, DRESSING, VEGETABLE, SALAD AND DESSERT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE ALOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS. I JUST DO THAT TO SERVE MORE PEOPLE.

Ahh... Thanksgiving is always the best time to eat great food. Well, every year we make turkey (either 10 pound or 20 pounds), and you can buy dinner rolls to put the turkey in. You can also buy canned cranberries to smother on the dinner roll bread inside. For dessert, you can just go to Costco and buy a pumpkin pie or bake a small batch of cookies.

we had all sorts of different food. if you want to make a unusually side dish that is very simple to make. try baked ziti, boil ziti, mix up with ground beef, ricotti cheese, tomato sauce and mozz. cheese.

If you do not want to make a whole Turkey you can always make a Turkey breast, or if you want something different maybe make cornish hens, or some roasted chicken with potatoes and carrots. or
Chicken and Rice
Chicken Vesuvio with peas and potatoes
Roast Pork
Roast Beef
Prime Rib

or try this have everybody bring a favorite dish and have a pot luck

turkey :)

Roast turkey breast with gravy
Mashed potatoes or bread stuffing
Vegetable of choice
cranberry sauce (opt) (some people don't eat but a couple spoonfuls of this)
dinnr rolls (optional) (some people might have one or two)
pumpkin pie

Believe me, this menu sounds like a diet compared to the dinners I have been to or prepared.

Make a Turkey Green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, Toss salad and a desert, that is what my sister is making this year.

If your family members go to both sides of family (wives and husbands) then i suggest going with something unusual. turkey gets old. stuffing gets old.

You can get non traditional recipes that are great for giving standards a little kick. try martha stuart and rachel ray or for the cajuns out there emiril

I myself prefer to go totally non traditional. We ate chinese one year and let me tell you, it was GOOOD.

Well, I'll tell you our Thanksgiving menu.

We're having -
2 Turkeys,
Mashed Potatoes,
Yams with Marshmellows on top (baked in the oven with the marshmellows to make them soft)
Stuffing of course,
Green bean casserole,
Cornbread,
Pumpkin Muffins,
Cranberry Sauce.
Yeah I know that's a whole lot!

For Dessert:
1 Vanilla Cake
1 12 Serving Cheesecake (With Strawberries)
2 Apple Pie's
1 Flan
A batch of Chocolate Cupcakes
And a batch of Sugar Cookies.

All made by scratch, although you can find the dessert all pre-made at a supermarket bakery department.

Hope this was helpful!

It has recipes for turkey, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and more. Plus, it has easy tips to help you out. It's my favorite recipe site of all time!

How about a turkey? There's a novel idea for Thanksgiving.
Just serve a salad and veg. with it.

get a meal package with turkey and dressing, pie, rolls, etc. from a local supermarket and cook it up.. or get a ham and bake it to your liking.

pie

Buy a ready made dinner from a grocery store like Giant, Safeway, Whole Foods, Wegmans. If it's just 2-3 people no need to go through all the preparation. Or just go out to eat -- many people do now.

If your not trying to stay in the kitchen all day I recommend some kind of fish(grilled salmon prepared right is delicious!), a small ham or baked chicken breasts. turkey takes a lot of time and comes in big sizes. For sides I would make candied yams, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and for dessert maybe a pinnaple upside down cake or a very festive cheesecake.

turkey. YUM! :)
