Cool question...I just ate and I'm hungry again. I'd go with menu #1 for sure. I make curry all the time (as a matter of fact I'm preparing a coriander/almond chicken curry this weekend) and as I plan to enjoy a local 'santa day' on Saturday when the guests are here, I plan to prepare the curry, reserving the cream which finishes it off, on Friday morning. Curries seem to taste better after having sat overnight in the fridge anyway. Preparing your curry the day before will free up your time to spend with your guests on Saturday. I'm guessing you'll be marinating your prawns for a bit of time so you can do that in advance again. (reserving marinade for last minute basting) Dessert is perfect. I might suggest having a light sorbet or frozen yogurt with the fruit only because it'd be a bit lighter. Bon Appetit! I'll bet you're an awesome cook. :-)

Number 1, sounds more refined

I sincerely hope there are no vegetarians coming to dinner

menu one sounds fab

second dish sounds rather heavy and stogey, do menu one but change the desert to a sorbet or lime tart to cleanse the pallette from the spices .

good luck xx

Mmmm I'm hungry now, would you send me recipes for both please.

The prawns, Steak and profiteroles sound wonderful

Both sound good.... I think #1 would be good because its more of a tropical theme and it might be a welcome relief in cold weather. It would be reminiscent of warm weather.

1 - they both sound really yummy (can I come?) but 1 is my favourite. Are you sure your guests can eat shellfish?

I guess #1 but neither sound all that great.

Mmmm both sound delish...Think I would prefer the first option though... Not quite so heavy... Enjoy!!!

They both sound like delicious menus. I'd go for the second menu because the dessert is more indulgent and not the sort of thing people make for themselves very often so you guest will feel they are getting more of a treat - not that I'm dissing yer fruit salad - I'm sure that's lovely too but home made profiteroles - yumma!

The peppers followed by the steak etc xxx

The first menu sounds simpler to create and easier to serve (less likely to go wrong and more time to spend with your guests). I would be wary of having chili in the first course followed by spice in the second course though. And some naan bread always goes down well with a curry.

Go for number 1 for yersel

and send

number 2 to ma hoos

#1, more exotic and a bit lighter, your guests won't start snoring at the dinner table!

can I come, please? I'll bring some vino...

Menu #2 and where do you live? LOL

Depends how well you know your guests, not everyone likes curry?? or prawns? whereas the beef is probably a safer option. Either sound lovely!!!! if you know your guests well I'd go with the menu you feel most comfortable with! good luck !

Option number 2 sounds good to me!

Neither !!! What ever happened to steak and potatoes. (with red wine)

Number 1 but leave out the chilli on the prawns otherwise you will have too much spice in the whole menu..I am a chef by the way and used to have my own restaurant cooking similar food :-) Instead of the ice cream with the fruit saled why not try creme freche with a little saffron in it.

yum yum my mouth is watering
i like both menus but i think the second is the best one although i love prawns and i love steak so i would want both cause i'm greedy.. can you send me a doggy bag!!!!!
have a good night

both sound Delicious please dont forget my invite

Number 2 sounds delicious. Go for that one. Filling and taste

Golly, they both sound fabulous! But I'll vote for #1, since everyone is coming off of TG and will feel "fat", the first menu seems lighter and totally not traditional "holiday" food.

#1 CAN I PLEASE COME!!!! ILL EVEN CLEAN THE HOUSE FOR YOUR GUEST LOL!!!!

Depends on where you live. If it's here in the cold Northeast, the steak menu will warm things up. If you're in a Southern climate go for the tropical flair. Both sounds incredible!

I agree that #2 sounds heavy. Also, frying is a pain due to the mess. And the curry can be made ahead so you can spend more time with your guests.

For a Formal Dinner Party, go for menu # 2!! Both sound great!! What time did you say I should be there!!

2

well i would say the first one since they have more things in commen and it goes with a theme sort of. but i would love the second menu instead
