Question:

How come you bake cookies but you cook bacon?

Answers:
Because English is quite an interesting language. We also park in a driveway and drive in a parkway.

bake refers to using an oven
cook refers to stovetop

but you can bake bacon.... simply place a layer of bacon on a broiler pan and bake until desired crispness... it's good because the fat drips off and the bacon is evenly crispy.

One can cook cookies and bake bacon if one wishes.

I seriously hope you aren't posing a lame question.

Most cookies are made with butter. You bake cookies because you wish with retain the shape and design of the cookies. Cooking would mean they'd lose the shape.

You can cook bacon, but you may also bake the bacon in the oven. The natural oil is secreted from the bacon even if you place the bacon in the oven. In fact, it's a lot less messy if you bake the bacon in the oven because you won't get a greasy kitchen floor and cooking area.

Well, I bake bacon too. It's no fuss, no muss that way.

Because cookies are made from dow,and bacon is meat.

For the same reason you park in a driveway and drive on a parkway.

I have been in commercial kitchens all my life we do bake bacon in the oven on big trays.

Baking refers to a closed heat system, like your oven. The heat stays inside the box. Otherwise I have no idea!

I'm gonna ponder that for hours!

I fry my bacon and I bake it too, depends upon how I feel like cooking it.

I always bake cookies for frying them or cooking them on the stove top would not deliver the desired outcome.
