What is a good quick dish to bring to a dinner party?

Answers:
Artichoke Dip

I have had raves about this one!

1 can artichoke hearts (mashed)
1/2 c. mayo
1 c. grated parmesian cheese
1 dash hot sauce
1 dash garlic powder

Mix together and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees; serve warm. This recipe only serves about 6 so you may want to double or triple. Best served with Ritz or Townhouse crackers.

maple carrots

microwave frozen carrots till thawed then put in pan and add maple syrup, and simmer for 30 minutes

Pasta salad, fruit salad, or green salad... Have a great time...

jell-o

Nachos - sprinkle a packet of corn chips onto plate - blob some salsa over them - grate some tasty cheese on top - that's it. Just pop them in your hosts warm oven for a bit and serve. Mmmm.

Pasta salad
Boil some bow tie or fusilli, Toss with Garlic and olive oil. Add some veggies like broccoli, carrots, cut up cubes of cooked chicken breast, salt and pepper. Add some ranch dressing for more flavor..

depends how fancy the party is....how about Baked Lays and a case of Pepsi?

Bring some kind of appetizer... you can find a quick and easy one on any recipe site...

Since I don't know what you like to eat, I'll recommend a site. www.allrecipes.com is really good. When you get to the main site, on your left there will be 'Popular Recipe Selections', you can click on 'quick and easy' and have tons of recipes for your selection.

I get the feeling you mean REALLY quick. Do this - stop by the store on the way and pick up an 8 oz. brick of cream cheese, a package of little cocktail shrimp or real crab at the seafood counter and a bottle of chili sauce (with the ketchup and stuff) - oh, also get a nice box of crackers. At the party, unwrap the cream cheese on a nice plate. Pour the chili sauce all over the cheese and dump the seafood on top. Find a couple spreaders, knifes or whatnot. This is very tasty with your fancy crackers.

My favorite "oh no, was I supposed to BRING something?" idea.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I have to agree with Ernimay. Artichoke dip is fabulous and her recipe is standard although you can add garlic to taste. Sprinkle the top with some paprika for color and bake in the oven til hot. Don't forget to take some toasted baguettes or crackers (Ritz work well). You can also purchase ready made artichoke dip from the deli dept. of most supermarkets which is very good. Buy two containers.....put in your best shallow bowl and tote to the party. No one will know you didn't make it yourself. If that doesn't sound good to you just take a veggie tray with dip. Always a welcome addition to any get together.

a cake or a pie or any desert

Cous cous salad or buy a strawberry cheescake

Most of these recipes are specifically designed for dinner parties and ease& speed of preparation:

Enjoy!

If you have a crock pot, you have no limits.
if you are doing a main course, try pineapple meatballs and rice.
appetizer?
roast garlic cloves in tin foil in the oven for 10-15 minutes until they are completely soft. (If they are still crunchy, they are still insanely strong) melt brie on crackers in microwave, add slices of avocado, put one clove of garlic on each appetizer. For the unmelted version, try cucumber then brie and a roasted garlic clove.

a cool salad served cold
cut cherry tomatoes [in half]
sliced cucumbers
cut spring onions, cooked black beans
parsley, in Italian dressing
