Help me with party ideas!!?!

Question:

Help me with party ideas!!?

My husband and I decided to entertain a few of our friends this Sunday afternoon. There will be 8 adults and 3 children all together. I was hoping some of you could share favorite party recipes and/or tips for me to make it a fun and tasty afternoon.

Thanks for your answer it was very helpful...the one I needed. Thanks. A non cooking recipe thats easy and hopefully people will like is 1 graham cracker crust and 1 can cherry pie filling and 2 bananas and a small thing of cool whip. Slice the bananas and double layer the bottom of the graham cracker crust and line them along the side. Pour in the cherry pie filling and top with the cool whip. Don't make too far ahead of time because the bananas will go bad. Also a quick recipe for a short notice is the beenie-weenies in bbq sauce (kids seem to like them). A quick jumbalaya recipe I like.....cut up one medium summer beef sausage, one can diced tomatoes, 1 cup white rice, 1Tblsp garlic, 1 medium onion, 1 medium green pepper and 1 tblsp of hot sauce, 1 cup of beef broth. Chop the onion and green pepper and sautee' in a tbsp of oil in a large frying pan ..once tender add the diced tomatoes and broth and rice and garlic...cover for 5 minutes and add the summer sausage and hot sauce and stir and cover another 10-15 minutes on simmer......hope these help. Anymore I think of i'll e-mail later...good luck.

We had a kids themed party a few weeks ago it was great, we made party bags and played games such as pin the tail on the donkey, the eating the chocolate with knife and forks game, pass the parcel etc. For food we had things such as jelly and ice cream, crisps, chocolate fingers, cake etc.
We added a bit of fun by adding alcohol, so in the pass the parcel some layers had a dare such as gargle a shot and you had to down a shot then spin around before pinning the tail on the donkey, of course this is optional.
Everyone really enjoyed being able to act like a kid again also if kids are coming then they will enjoy it too.

That "pass the parcel" sounds intriguing, and I've never heard of it. Could you email me how it works?
