mmmm.....that sounds great.......
Here's what I would serve, and this recipe comes from my Nonna's kitchen in Viareggio, Roma. It is very easy to make, the day before, refrigerate, then let it sit out at room temp for up to 2 hours, heat the entire pan at 250 degrees for say 15 minutes, once its nice and warm you can slice , and plate it. Rather rich, but a taste sensation that is out of this world. I like to garnish the plate with kiwi, black Berrie, slice of strawberries to add color and a refreshing twist.
"TORTA DI MANDORLE"
in a bowl combine:
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 sticks butter
3 cups flour
lemon zest from 1 lemon, (using finest setting on cheese grater)
1/8th tsp salt
1 egg yolk
7 oz. of chopped blanched raw almonds
Blend all together by hand without over working the dough.crumble and Press into preferably a Pizza pan other wise a large metal baking pan will do.
Traditional Option: each serving would have a whole blanched almond pressed into the dough before baking.
Bake @ 325 25-30 minutes
Mangia~ Buon Appetito~ Ciou and have a great dinner party!

Chocolate cake sounds nice.
Can I come to your dinner? It sounds delicious.

You've worked so hard!

Treat yourself & buy some and enjoy time with your guests.

Cannoli

Your meal sounds so yummy and Italian. How about some Tiramasu or Canoli's? Both are rich and creamy. A bit hard to make, but your friends will appreciate the time and effort you put into it.

Keylime pie ,from florida
that is my standard dessert answer
i love Key lime pie
hope i get some before i die

Either tiramisu or sorbet

Everything you are serving is heavy, you should serve a light dessert, maybe a sorbet. It will be light and refreshing after such a heavy...and yummy...meal.

Honey tiramisu!
INGREDIENTS
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/8 cups mascarpone cheese
24 ladyfingers
1 1/2 cups brewed coffee
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
DIRECTIONS
In a medium bowl, beat yolks with sugar and vanilla until smooth and light yellow. Fold mascarpone into yolk mixture. Set aside.
Dip ladyfingers briefly in coffee and arrange 12 of them in the bottom of an 8x8 inch dish. Spread half the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with remaining cookies and mascarpone. Cover and chill 1 hour. Sprinkle with cocoa just before serving.

Tiramisu, the ultimate Italian dessert.

With an Italian dinner an Italian dessert will be the best!!!
So why don't you try to make "tiramisu"

The Italians would finish this up with gelato (ice cream) or sherbet. Look at some sort of Italian cooking book for "dolce (dol-chay)," which means "sweets." I'm sure you'll find many from which to choose.

maybe tapioca pudding? it takes about 40 minutes to make though...

or creme brulee although I dont know if its hard to make....

give them a spanish style dessert... it's called "tres leche" it's so good... I'm not sure how to bake it but i do know it's simple.... google the recipe..... it's well worth the effort.... i hope this helps.... good luck!

Strawbelly jelly with vanilla ice cream

Fried Ice cream....bought in half gallons at most food stores.

Serve in sundae cups, top with spray whip topping and cherry on top.

Either regular or chocolate canoli or if you prefer something a bit lighter some nice lemon or lime sherbert or sorbet is very nice.

Tiramisu, it taste like custard with rum in it.

a creme brulee with fresh berries..maybe a drizzle of chocolate. Stick with an italian classic...cannoli's. I would steer clear of a heavy dessert like cheese cake. Another great desert would be a sorbet or italian ice, there are so many great varieties. I really like the sorbet in the natural shell that is offered in Trader Joes...coconut sorbet is in a coconut shell, orange sorbet in the orange shell.. make sure though to keep it light since people tend to over indulge in pasta.

Fruit and lemon sorbet. You want something light. You could also have raspberry and the lemon sorbets, with a light yellow cake, without frosting.

hi....I wish I was coming to your dinner. I am from an Italian family and I cook stuff like this all the time. I suggest serving a spumoni ice cream with a mini biscotti or some type of simple Italian cookie that you can purchase. After all the work you have done take it easy on dessert. And something light like that is also very refreshing to end on.

italian rum cake is always good or a lighter dessert is biscotti and or pizzelles with coffee and a liquer...or better yet cannollis are always good bon appetit

Brownies

Chocolate covered creame puffs are an excellent choice and easy to make!! Other choices to serve as dessert: cannoli or tiramsu! Ice cream: spumoni!!! Makes me hungry!!

If you need recipes, I can help you, just ask!!

I hope that this helps!

cheesecake, chocolate cake or better yet go to an italian bakery and find tiramisu cake or pastries ... you can probably find italian desserts through google or allrecipes.com ... good luck

tiramisu
cheesecake
zuppa inglese (like an English Trifle, layers of cake, pudding/curd and fruit)

or

Chocolate Amaretti Cake (serves 10-12)

6 oz. semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 cup almonds
1 cup amaretti cookies, crushed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2/3 cup sugar
4 eggs
cocoa powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Butter a 9" round bake pan.

Line the bottom with waxed paper. Butter the paper.

Melt the chocolate. Stir until smooth.

In a food processor, process the almonds and cookie crumbs until finely ground.

Transfer to a bowl.

Process the butter and sugar until smooth.

With the motor running, add the eggs, one at a time.

Add the nut mixture and the chocolate. Blend well.

Pour into prepared pan.

Bake about 30 minutes, until the center is slightly puffed.

Let cool in the pan on a rack for 15 minutes.

Invert onto a serving platter and remove the paper.

Let cool completely.

Just before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.

Cheesecake with assorted toppings! Buy a good cheesecake and put it on a pretty plate (you went to a pile of trouble already and Sam's sells a great one). Put out little bowls of toppings for people to built their own dessert. I had this at my baby shower and the girls that gave it for me had strawberries, caramel, whipped cream, hot fudge, apples (like the pie filling), blueberries (like the pie filling), chopped nuts and crumbled oreos. They stuck with the baby shower theme and had the toppings in baby food jars (very cute). I had a slice with apples, caramel, chopped nuts and whipped cream! Yum. If you don't use this dessert for your dinner, use it eventually. Everyone raved about the yum factor.

With all of the richness from the cream and cheese, a lemon sorbet filled in the lemon would be not only suprising but luscious for your guests. It will clean their palate and they will really be impressed.
