I want to throw a cocktail party...?!

Question: I want to throw a cocktail party!.!.!.!?
I want to throw a cocktail party, and although I don't mind spending a few dollars on it (I know I will have to!), I wanted to limit the number of ingredients!.

Can you provide me with 5-6 cocktails that share ingredients!.!.!.then I can make a little menu, et cetera!.!.!.

What are you favourite cocktails!!? Which ones do you usually make on the same night!?!?

Many thanks for all your help!

I always make Bourbon Slush for my parties!. Make it a few days ahead to allow time for it to freeze!. It is always a hit and everyone always requests it!! Make it ahead of time, and you don't have to spend time mixing at the party!.
I offer bourbon slush, beer and wine!. Keep it simple!. You will have a much better time at your own party if you are not stressing over the drinks!.
Enjoy and Have Fun!!!

BOURBON SLUSH

2 BOILING CUPS OF WATER WITH 2 TEA BAGS
(place water in microwave with tea bags for 3 minutes on high)

1 CUP SUGAR
1 CAN 12oz FROZEN ORANGE JUICE
1 CAN 12oz LEMONADE
7 CUPS WATER
1 ?-2 CUPS BOURBON

Allow sugar to dissolve in the hot tea mixture!.
Mix in the remaining ingredients!.
Freeze 24 hours or until completely frozen!.
Serve as slush!.

Serves many!.

I would suggest checking out www!.epicurious!.com!. It's a free website where you can find thousands of food & drink recipes from Gourmet & Bon Appetit magazines, and you can search by ingredient, type of alcohol etc!. They also have pre-planned menus available; here's a link to a number of different cocktail party menus (some of them are kind of involved, but you can just browse them to get ideas):

And here's their drink search feature:

Off the top of my head, a citrus flavor profile for all of the cocktails would be an easy way to mix things up without getting too complicated--a splash of orange, lemon or lime can spice up even plain old vodka on the rocks !. !. !. lemon drops, vodka gimlets and raspberry lime rickeys are all only a few ingredients away from one another, and margaritas just require you to have some tequila and cointreau/triple sec on hand in addition to vodka!.

I also go to foodtv!.com and marthastewart!.com for party-planning ideas, so if you don't find everything you want from epicurious, check those out too! You can probably just type in "cocktail party" and something will come up!
Hope that helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would go with martinis because they all have the same main ingredient - vodka!. You can make just reg!. ones by just adding vermouth, cosmo's - just add cranberry and triple sec, flirtini's - add rasp liquor, cranberry and champagne!. The possibilities are endless!Www@FoodAQ@Com

IT can be expensive and time consuming to have more than one alcohol type and mixers

Vodka's easy cause you can make dozens of drinks with it, and most people like it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
