Answers:
How about an Oktoberfest for a party!.!.!. particularly as they are moving to Germany and we are entering October!.!.!. Have pitchers of beer (see if they stock any german beer) and serve Bratwurst (german hotdogs)

As for gifts!.!.!. what about making an album of photos and memories from the office!?
A union jack (assuming from england) to remember her roots
A box of tea bags!.!.!. mainland Europe have no idea about proper tea
A German/English phrase book (or electronic translator)
Does the company have mugs with their logos on!? I got one when I left my last job!.!.!. "to annoy my new employers"
I was also given a bracelet with my name on it!.!.!. so people would know who I was (they figured they wouldn't recognise my accent)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wow how fun!. I love the idea about Oktoberfest that someone else suggested!.
Here are a few other ideas I found while looking thru web sites: Here's a great way to welcome the person to their new home: Buy funky, funny postcards and ask each guest to write a personal message for the person leaving — along with their contact information!. After the party, you address them and mail them!. Send a few at random intervals so the person gets mailbox surprises for several days!.
Ask guests to bring send-off gifts that are small and easy to pack!. Maps for road trips, play-lists for long airplane rides and plenty of books and blank notebooks!.
Here are a few of my own: buy a small photo album the kind that you can journal in and use it as a guest book and ask each co worker to sign it with something special about the person leaving than take pictures at the party and either you can put the pics in the album or have your co worker do it!. I love to scrapbook so I always put them together before handing it over!.
Does the company you work for have a party budget!? If so or not depends on you, I like to have door prizes buy 3-5 small gifts and wrap them!. Each person signs their name on a small piece of paper and all the names go into a jar/basket/bowl and through out the night draw a name and that person gets a gift!. Or the guessing game put candy, gum, small itmes into a glass jar that you can see through!. And each person writes theri name and guess down on a piece of paper that only you see and who ever is the closet without going over make that point very clear wins the jar of goodies!. Its a fun game to play with all age groups!.
Hope I have helped, have a fun time!.

Memories of Home party!?

Everyone brings something that remind them of "home" where ever you live now!. Obviously, no food stuff that might rot or can't go overseas!. This way if she gets homesick, she can have some fond memories and keepsakes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
