Friend moving away. Should I be upset?!
A friend of mine of 12 years who lives 40 minutes away just called and said that she is moving two states away!. We are both 30 years old!. Her parents are buying a big house and she wants to go with them!. My voice started cracking and tears was flowing from my eyes!. I was upset and she knew it!. Actually I was crying she just didn't hear the sniffles!. I personally don't understand why I was crying!. She really hasn't been a good friend to me!. She barely calls and when she does it is all bragging about what she has and how much it costs!. She says things such as "I spent $400 for a internet cellphone, $300 for clothes or her "girlfriend" gave her $900 to spend as she pleases!. She knows I am a low income person and trying for my associate degree!. I don't want to hear about what she has!.It makes me feel like crap!. Just now while we were talking she interrupted our conversation to say "my girlfriend just called and I want to see what she wants"!. So she hung up!. We hardly talk more than once every two months!. She couldn't even give me her attention for 5 minutes without worrying about her "sugar mama"!. Who she gets to see everyday!. I don't have alot of friends, real friends anyway!. I have tried making friends, but always end up with the wrong kind of people who use me!. I am on the heavy side and I seem to attract jerks!. Even during high school, I only had one friend!. She keeps saying we are best friends, but she doesn't act like it!. Please don't say I am needy because I am not!. Like I said we only talk sparingly!. What she says and what she does is two different things!.Should I be upset she is going away!? Is she worth to cry over!?

Don't be upset!. It sounds like she uses you to feed her ego and make her think it's OK that she has all this money and that you don't!. Secretly she probably will miss you!. Who is she going to call now and brag to!? But what you may be experiencing is change, and that is what you are sad for!. Perhaps you like to hear her stories as well, as it gives you something else to think about, and perhaps you will miss her strength!. That is what you are crying for!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have a friend who's the same way!. If she told me she was leaving, I'd definitely be upset!. I mean, she was one of my best friends!.

i personally don't think it's worth crying over someone like that!. i wouldn't even be talking to them anymore at that point, even if i've known her for 12 years!. you can't really treat a person like that & expect them to kiss your feet, you know!?
but at the same time, if you've maintained some sort of friendship for 12 years & they're moving that far away, you sort of realize that it's gonna be a while before you see them again, & even though you hate their guts, you can't help but miss them!.
but really it's up to how your heart feels!. if it feels like being upset, let it be!. then you'll get over it & you won't have to worry about it after that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
