I had parties with cartoon characters for my son & daughter a few times!. Don't know if you need decor, but I printed out a few pictures from the internet, took them to Office Max and enlarged parts of the pictures 200% or more (not sure - it's been a few years) You can only get like half of a head on one sheet or so!. Then at home I taped them together and traced them onto posterboard (Put on top of the posterboard and press hard with a pen to make a dented in line then trace with permanent marker)
I had the kids color them with markers, crayons or watercolors (depending on how messy or dark we wanted them) You could do this on big rolls of paper (Gift wrap from dollar store!?) so the kids at the party could color them and take them home!.
I've seen strawberry shaped and scented pencil topper erasers at a teacher store!. That would be good filler for goodie bags
Just a thought, though, Some kids could be allergic to berries - you might want to double check with moms!.
You can always get some of the Strawberry Shortcake DVDs (library!?) and play them for awhile to get them calmed down!.
Musical chairs, but use the Strawberry Shortcake Theme music - our library also has Strawberry Shortcake CDs!.
Clothespin Drop, but paint the clothespins red and paint a basket (for berry picking) on the jar!. (you have the child kneel on a kitchen chair and drop the clothespin into the jar from the height of the chair back!. If they make it, they get a sticker or something!.)
Pinata of a strawberry - use a balloon and then a crumpled sheet of newspaper, tape them together and then wrap with plastic wrap to get the form for your papier mache pinata!.
Serve strawberry shortcake or one of the other character's deserts or cake flavors - Orange Blossom = Orange cake or cinnamon rolls with orange frosting, Angelcake = Angelfood cake, Pupcake = cupcakes, Custard = ice cream or pudding, etc!.
