I need to plan an inexpensive dinner for a group.?!

Question: I need to plan an inexpensive dinner for a group!.!?
I'm thinking peasant dinner!. Maybe French Onion Soup, crunchy crust bread and !? cheese!. Any other suggestions!? Lasagna seems like such a cliche!. My friends are epicureans, I am a poor artist!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like you are on the right track - for a main course you can make a Chicken Cesar salad then end the meal with a nice brie with grapes and sweet wine, lovely, simple and absolutely artsy!. Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chili con carne!? or chili NON carni as i make it with quorn and a tin of kidney beans as I'm veggie!. Pimento beans cost slightly more but are worth it!. Schwartz or Colmans packets help spice it up!. And rice that isn't boil in the bag takes a few more minutes to cook but is cheaper!.

Bread and butter pudding is a good pudding that can be made with a cheap white bread or a posh loaf depending how strapped for cash you are!. Or supermarket packet cake mixes that are about 9p a packet but you usually need to use 2, can be jazzed up with a teaspoon of cocoa or chocolate powder!.

If you are an artist try personalised table mats or something!. Atmosphere is just as important as the food!.
Good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
