you eat inside a restaurant at a table with a white tablecloth, at a bistro you eat on the sidewalk at a little wire table with little wire chairs.......i think!

Bistro is a French word, and evokes visions of a small, neighborhood eatery, tables inside and out, where you can stop for a snack, a beverage, or a full meal.

Bistro is where there is a playground for kids, Restaurant is where its pretty much grownups!!

A bistro is a homestyle restaurant serving french "bistro classics" such as steak frites, mussels, tapenades, pates, terrines, tartines, charcuterie, consomme,etc

they usually also have a great wine selection by the glass.

bistro is where u eat little of everything and a restaurant is where u eat a lot of some things

bistro means cafe.restaurant is restaurant where they cook.at bistro they may cook .it depends from the owner.

the professional chef is the only person talking sense here, why would you have to eat outside on little wire chairs!!!

The difference is usually the price!!
A bistro is less formal than a restaurant, a bit like the roadside cafe,s that you see in Paris.
