Question: I have to make a foreign appetizer for a dinner party and I need help!.!?
We are invited to a dinner party tonight and we are to bring a appetizer from a foreign country!. I have looked all over the internet and cant find anything that is simple to make!. I need something that tastes good and looks good!. The hosts of the party are Indian and German so please don't suggest either one of those!. Our main dish will be German and Indian!. I figured with all the cultures out here you all could definitely come up with some good ones!. Please give me the recipe also not just a name!. Thank you all in advance!. Stuffed mushrooms

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

1 dozen fresh large mushrooms
1/2 cup melted butter, divided
2 tablespoons finely chopped green bell pepper
3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash black pepper
dash ground cayenne pepper
Parmesan cheese

Preparation:

Clean mushrooms; remove stems, leaving caps whole!.

Chop stems!.

Sauté mushroom caps in 3 tablespoons of butter; set aside!.

Sauté chopped stems, green pepper, and chopped onion in remaining butter until onion is tender; stir in bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper!.

Stir to mix well!.

Stuff each mushroom cap with bread crumb mixture; sprinkle each stuffed mushroom with a little Parmesan cheese!.

Place stuffed mushrooms in a greased baking dish!. Bake at 325° for 15 minutes!.

Stuffed mushrooms serve 8!.

Make dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), hummus, baba ganoush( a simple eggplant dip that is deelish), pierogies, lox and great bread, mini shrimp tacos, mini arabic pizzas (made with bisquit dough and ground lamb meat if in a hurry the bisquit dough is a life saver, Speha is the name of the small pizzas if you want to look up the recipe, you can also use ground beef if needed), spring rolls, shrimp and a great remoulade!. Rumaki is easy!. Marinate chicken livers in soy, ginger and garlic and wrap around water chestnut and broil!. Sounds awful, but is very good!.

This is an easy recipe for delicious Viet Namese/Thai style spring rolls!. Light, healthy, a great summer meal but equally good all year long!


Ingredients
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon sesame seed
2 cups coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
1 (10 1/2 ounce) package firm tofu, drained and diced
1/3 cup chopped peanuts
1/2 cup sweet and sour sauce
8 9 inch round rice paper sheets
fresh cilantro (optional)
green onion (optional)


Directions

1!.FOR DIPPING SAUCE!.

2Stir together soy sauce, vinegar,sesame oil and sesame seed in a small bowl and set aside!.


3FOR FILLING!.

4Combine slaw mix, tofu and nuts!.

5Add sweet and sour sauce, toss to coat, and set aside!.

6 TO PREPARE!.

7Dip rice papers in a bowl of warm water and drain off excess!.

8Place between damp kitchen towels until ready to fill!. One at a time
works best!

9In the center of a rice paper place a cilantro leaf and/or a thin shred of green onion!.

10Top with about 1/2 cup of the filling!.

11Fold one edge over the filling, fold in sides, and roll up!.

12Serve with the dipping sauce!.

You may add or subtract any ingredients! If you dont like tofu substitute with chicken, pork, shrimp, crab, lobster!
