My friends and I have theme parties all the time. My favorite so far was 'golf pros and tennis hos.' Everyone dresses up in thier best country club cliche outfits and you serve club sandwiches, little tea cookies and sandwichs, and gin and tonics to drink, etc. We all had fake name tags with names like biff and duffy. Then we went miniature golfing and then went dancing. It was a blast. You just really have to play with the trophy wife/golf pro aspects of it and youll come up with a million things. Think caddyshack parody. be creative!
enjoy!

I think it depends on the age. But, seeing that Halloween is next month. Why don't you do a themed party. As for recipes go to www.foodnetwork.com, and they will have many ideas for your food choices. Good luck and have a great party.

Well...appetizers are a fancy way of saying snacks. How old is this crowd? It makes a big difference in what to serve.

for food go to www.kraftfoods.com, you can search by the type of food you want to make (ex. appetizers). as for the party its self, a themed party would be cool. you could do something like your favorite movie, or casino night with poker a black jack games (did that for my b/fs birthday and it was a big hit). just make sure you have good music also!

Here's the menu I used for a party.
Sangria and Tapas

A Red Wine Sangria...prepared with vodka the day before.
Start with a good size pitcher filled half way 50/50 red wine/OJ, half cup triple sec, 1 cup vodka, 1/4 cup sugar, thick sliced 1 orange, 3 limes quartered,....before serving top off with 7 up.

Tapas:
Bruschetta
Baked brie topped with Brown sugar and toasted almonds
Paella (w/ chicken, Shrimp, and Suasage)
Ceasar salad with walnuts and pear
I also had chips, salsa and guacamole

Dessert:
Small skewers..with bite size cheese cake squares, brownies and a strawberry at the end...it was supposed to be for white chocolate fondue but I skipped the fondue and just skewerd them.

The music I had was Buddha Bar and Chill out

Well for dip "Fridays spinich and aritcoke" is soooo good and they sell it in the grocery stores now, serve with tortilla chips. Chocolate satin pie is good for dessert ( Marie Callender's ). Stuffed chicken breast are good, stuff them with chesse and tomatoes.
