Help with hosting a murder mystery party...?!
I want to have an ongoing murder mystery game going at my Halloween party!. The problem is that most of the games I look up are for a set amount of people (I'm not positive as to just how many people are coming) and they require guests to dress a certain way!. My guests are coming in their own costumes, some of which I know have already bought them!. I need some pointers!. Are there some ways I could just have random clues dropped throughout the party so that by the end of the night we all finally find out who the murderer is!? Somehow, if I could figure how to do it that way, it won't be the whole focus of the party, because we will be doing some other things too, but it would still be entertaining nonetheless!. OR if anyone knows of other games that capture the essence of horror or spookiness too, I'd love to hear them! Most of what I've come up with or read is pretty childish for a group of 20-30 year olds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a suggestion that may sound corny but could be fun and easy for you and your guest!.
Start with a deck of cards!. You decide to make one card the "Mark" like the Queen of Hearts or the Jack of Spades!. You place the mark card in the deck somewhere you know it will be like at the 13th card or the 20th card!. As your guest arrive you give each one a card off the top of the deck!. When you get to the card that you know is the "mark" make a note of who gets it!.
That person is the murderer but only you know!. Everyone else is told that there is a murderer among them and throughout the night people are going to be dying and they have to try to figure out who the Murderer is!.
You will decide who dies based on your own rules, but the rules have to be connected to something that the person with the "mark" card does or says!. For example, maybe everytime you are around that person and that person says the word "I" then whoever he is looking at you can decide that person dies!.
When someone dies you take their card back!. Only people who are still alive can try to figure out who the murderer is!. Even the murderer won't know he's the murderer but He can figure it out if he wants!.
Make it something simple and fun for everyone where people can try ot figure it out if they want but they can also still just enjoy hanging out and enjoying the party!.
I can give more detials or extra info if oyu want but this is just something to get your imagination going!.

I would still do it regardless of who is dressed as what!. Your idea about dropping clues throughout the party is fine too!. also, you can get ideas from this website!.
