What is a lounge suit?

It's a dark blue or black suit for afternoon/evening attire.
lounge suit = ordinary business type suit (ie. NOT evening wear / dinner suit / morning suit ).
An ordinary suit, not a dinner jacket.
As an organiser of conferences with dinners, we usually put lounge suits for any dinner or gathering which is work related, casual for outings - non work related and dinner jacks for formal dinner dances.
It's a basic suit - not fancy or formal wear attire...Kind of like what you see everyday.
A smart suit but not your fancy black / white ones which cost a bundle with fancy frilled shirts and all that. Which you will probably only wear once in its life time before you change shape, and then realise you should n't have spent so much. After it has been in your wardrobe for 20 + years.... have fun.
It's the kind of suit that you see Prince Charles walking about in during the day. Smart, dark, discreet.
