I have my favorites that appear in a few places on this list.

2 Salads
3 Pizzas
4 Steak
5 Burgers
6 Fried Chicken
7 BBQ Ribs

10 Donuts

Well I can only think of American ones,they would be:

1) hamburgers
2) spaghetti
3) pizza
4) hotdogs
5) barbecue
6) fried chicken
7) tacos
8) philly cheesesteaks
9) steak and potatoes
10) seafood

Two different questions, world wide then things like rice, potatoes, grains, wheat etc, would be top of the list regards to consumption,
For each country it would be totally different in each place, for instance in england the most popular food is now chicken tikka, in australia its probably still the meat pie, in usa maybe hotdogs, all very different see?

rice, lettuce, pasta, grains, veggies, fruits, fish, meats, that about covers most countries

dog food, cat food, fish food, bird food, lizard food, camel food,horse food,goat food, hamster food and pizza

Somewhere I read that the banana is the world's most popular fruit.

Rice has to be in the top ten.
