Can someone explain what the Red No. 2 scare about M&M's in 1976 was about?!
Answers:
A lot of red dye was tested on rats and seemed to, maybe, cause cancer in some of them!. It was banned cause it was not found to be safe, but it is not like it ever was blamed for any human cancers!.

Currently, it looks like perhaps other food preservatives, colours and additives may be part of this Ritalin Generation's issues!. I did some reading and cut my son off various foods, from cheesies to red or purple popsicles, about 3 years ago!. Now the companies are catching up, Motrin and other cough syrups are coming natural rather than grape or bubble gum, and I can feed him banana antibiotics instead of cherry!.
Edit: And I just searched and found this new study result: http://news!.bbc!.co!.uk/2/hi/health/374242!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
