Any ideas for a date with my mom?!
Any ideas for a date with my mom?
I want to go out on a date with my mom. She has many medical issues and I am 7 months pregnant, so neither one of us can drink. She is my best friend and I want to spend some time with just the two of us (no kids or husbands). Does anybody have any ideas for a fun night out with just mom and daughter?

When I was expecting my third child, I took my mom out to eat breakfast, and then we went to see a movie that we both had been dying to see, a funny comedy. Then, we went out for banana splits and then hit the starbucks. We had a nice leisurly lunch at a local buffet style place, then we had a nice stroll at a mall window shopping for about 30 minutes waiting for our next movie to open... We had pigged out all day, seen two movies and it was GREAT!!!!!!!! On our way home from the movie we spent an hour and a half in the park watching the sun set, and watching planes land at the nearby DFW airport, and it was such a nice way to end our day together. Most importantly, you dont need to spend a DIME to have a nice memorable day together, and remember, gather a handful of flowers to press to remember the day forever, :) HAVE FUN TOGETHER!!!!!!!

this is the same day I had with my Mom, so I know
What about a simple dinner out, and a movie?
i think a nice dinner and a chick flick sound pretty good....followed by a slumber party with the two of you...me and my mom have the best talks when we have a slumber party....like those corny coffee commercials!!
I recently went to a dinner/playhouse. It was a lot of fun. 4 course meal and a comedy play. Give that a try.
Manicure, pedicure and dinner (or lunch or afternoon tea if you are both tired). Throw in a facial if you have extra money. Not that expensive and lots of fun.
When you get home, look at the old photo albums. Ask her tons of questions about what she felt like having her first, what can you expect, stuff about your family, so you can tell your child someday! Trust me, they like being asked these things. :)
go to a comedy show
Go to dinner, take a carriage ride, do something that doesn't limit your ability to talk, like movies or plays.
How about a spa?
Get massages and pedicure and manicure?
how about a Mom and Daughter weekend? find a nice bed and breakfast in an old fashioned area and just be a tourist. Or go for brunch and then go to a spa. And whats with the part about neither being able to drink? Honey that shouldn't even be part of it I never wanted to drink with my Mom at all, I got drunk with an aunt one time and boy what a waste of a buzz! lol Don't worry because some people cannot fathom having fun without booze, let me tell you, I quit drinking years ago and have never had as much fun with it as I am having right now without it. My Mom is dying I wish I could have one more day out with her, so you two do that... enjoy.
May I suggest BINGO! I know it sounds corny but it would allow you both the chance to chat and compete giving her a chance to feel able (since you explained her medical condition). Besides, it is good harmless fun.
Best to you and your mom.
Why don't you both go out to dinner and then after wards go to a small coffee house that has deep comfortable chairs and a fireplace and settle in for a comfy, long chat.
Do you have a theater house in your city? or maybe a day date where you go to the spa. Have fun whatever you do
I pedicure is always fun and not that expensive. A good movie [at home or at the theatre], popcorn. I suggest a comedy - laughter is good medicine and it sounds like your mom could use some laughter. Enjoy it and go out often!
