What's a good finger food to bring to a party?!

Question:

What's a good finger food to bring to a party?

My girlfriends are having a cookout on Friday and I need some good ideas about what to bring. Something easy, but fun and good that will be really popular.

Make tortilla rollups--there's an infinite variety, and they're yummy and pretty! My favorite:
Spread tortillas with soft onion & chive sour cream. Cover with very thin slices of hard salami & roll up tightly. Wrap each in plastic wrap & chill til firm; cut into one inch slices. Arrange on a platter cut side up.
Simple, delicious, and attractive.

swedish meatballs
taco dip
crabcakes
mini-sandwiches

barbaque smokys you know the little hot dogs.

chip&dip

carrots and ranch dressing..with some ruffles chips:P

or a snack tray..like crackers/ham/cheese

nachos and nacho dip (with cream cheese, salsa, and mozzarella)

Dip

Velveta cheese dip with corn chips

several kinds of cheeses an crackers.......... fresh fruits too

popcorn balls or cheese & crackers or sauage balls

Try an Edible fruit basket. It has sticks with pieces of fruit on them arranged like flowers. They are easy to eat and grab and really good. Melons, Strawberries, grapes, pear and pineapples.
Diabetics and diet watchers can eat it too.

finger sandwiches, fancy pickles,a party platter of crackers, meats, cheeses, veggies and dips, pretzels, mints, cupcakes decorated, pigs in blankets, chicken sticks w/pickles and potatoes and chicken on a skewer.make some fruit punchand homemade ice cream

roll ups......

flour tortillas
sour cream
shredded cheese
fiesta ranch dip mix i packet
chopped black olives
salsa
8 oz of cream cheese

mix it all together, just a little bit of everything, until it tastes the way you like it, there is no wrong or right to this, make sure its at a thicker consistency.

spread it into the tortillas roll them up and cut them into pieces. They are so yummy!!

also my mom makes this all the time....

Deli ham
pickle spears
cream cheese

spread cream cheese on the ham slices roll a pickle up in it and cut them into pieces, also yummy!

mozzarella cheese sticks !! yum.

veggies and dip

Bread Bowl with Spinach Dip

You'll need a Pkg of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip and the recipe is on the back of the pkg for the dip ( I also add 16oz of mayo, it cuts the ranch taste a bit and stretches the dip)

Buy 2 round pumpernickel breads and cut one out into a bowl. Fill the bowl with the dip and put on a large platter with the remaining bread and second loaf broken up for dipping.

If you're young and new to "bring something parties", this is going to be your signature and you'll be asked to bring it all the time.

Make a pitcher full of your favorite drink. Then, make popsicles out of it. To serve them, keeping them frozen, place a large strainer filled with crushed ice inside a larger bowl. Place all the popsicles on the ice. And, experiment (fun and educational) to find the right ratio of alcohol (if you choose alcoholic popsicles)
to mix so that the popsicles aren't mushy and freeze well.

I would suggest a blender drink, like margarita, they freeze the best and are tasty with or without alcohol in them.

Have fun!

ham roll ups. mix cream cheese and garlic salt and spread it on a slice of ham. cut it into small rolls and put a tooth pick though each one.

Those cheese cubes that have toothpicks in them! God I love those.... =P~

u can take a fruit tray people always enjoy them or a carrot tray with ranch dip
some people like to go to chick fil a and get a tenders or fruit tray from there

cream puffs. they are delicious, small, and eaten with the hands. if you are making them they arent aht complicated. you can also buy them frozen and just let them thaw before they are eaten(though they are still delicious frozen) and if you are making them i once worked fro a caterer who instead of putting cream in the cream puffs put chicken salad and tuna salad and crab in the cream puffs. so they are like little sandwich balls(and its absolutly delicious. its like haveing a chicken salad sanwhiwh inb a little bite(or tuna sald or crab whatever takes your fancy) if you are making them try allrecipes.com. if you want to do the cream puff then you should find the recipe just fine. if you want to substitute the cream for the chicken salad just make the cream puff dough for the bread like outside and make the chicken salad the way you would for any chicken salad sandwich or crab or tune or all three or strawberry cream cheese or whatever the heck you want to put in them. ooooh you could even make little pb and j puffs. sorry im getting a little bit too enthusiastic. i just really like cooking

jalapeno wraps.
slice jalapenos in half and remove seeds. (you may want to use a glove)
cream cheese ( I like the garlic and herb flavor)
bacon

spoon cream cheese into the sliced jalapenos and wrap bacon then place on a cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven of 350 degrees and bake for about 45 minutes to one hour.
It is always a big hit at our home.

make some shrimp salad (i dunno the recipe but my friend made it once... i think it has boiled egg-yolk base and is flavoured with garlic, lemongrass, and ginger) and stuff it in tomatoes, paprika, and boiled egg whites.

Surprise spread
1 block of cream cheese
a few healthy tablespoons of miracle whip
a few healthy tablespoons of sour cream
beat that all together and then spread out on a dish
Spread out some bottled seafood sauce ontop of that (prefer heinz)
top with seedless diced tomatoes, diced green onions, diced green peppers and mozzarella cheese.(HAS to be mozza cheese..nothing else tastes as good)
Chill in the fridge
Serve with tortilla chips. ( I use the unsalted kind)
It is actually really easy and people just love it! Its addictive really!
if you wanted to as well you could add shrimp bits to it.

Sausage rolls, cheese straws, sliced carrots, cucumber dip. prawn crackers.
If its something quick and easy, chocolate fingers, mini chocolate eclairs
buy brandy snaps with the nozzle type cream to fill them just before serving.
Viennese fingers, Madelaine's, basket fruit and nuts, meringue rings with
drained tin peaches in them, (one peach half turned upside down in one
meringue ring).
Regards.
Lain.

How about an antipasto platter?? Lots of different olives. Maybe some cheese on the side?

Try this.

buy 12" flour tortillas, cream cheese, salsa and perhaps turkey, ham, or pepperoni.

Spread a thin lay of cream cheese on the flour tortilla, add meat, and salsa. Roll it up and slice it (it makes little pinwheels). Layer them pretty on a plate and bring to the party.

OR

Needs: Square baking dish, 1 pkg. cream cheese (the rectangle one), one jar of either re-fried bean or you can use a can of hormel chili w/beans (I prefer the chili, but it's good both ways) then a bag of shredded cheese (mexican blend works good).

Take the cream cheese and spread in the bottom of baking dish in an even layer. Spread a can of refried beans (or the chili) on top of the cream cheese in an even layer. Then add the salsa ( I like medium, but you know your friends so cater to them) and spread that out. Then you take the mixed cheese spread it on top and melt in the oven. Feel free to add diced red onion or diced scallions to the top to give it extra color and flavor. Serve with chips (i like the lime flavored ones). Trust me, there won't be any left!!
