How do you make cupcake picks?
I have a 4 year old granddaughter and the latest thing seems to be to give each child a cupcake pick with their piece of cake. These are the little toothpick like things that sit on the top of the cake. She's wanting "doggies" and I cannot find them anywhere. Her birthday is Saturday. I need to make something. Any ideas how??

If she has a "favorite" doggie--especially a real one, take a pic of it and crop it down to the size of about a quarter. Cut & Paste the image until you have copied it many times, then print it out on a thick, card-stock type paper. Then, cut them out and just glue them onto regular toothpicks--front & back! How fun for your granddaughter to have VERY personalized doggie picks!
Go to michael's or a party supply store. If you have a bakery supply store near by they will have it. If all fails go to a bakery/local store bakery and ask them if they have what your are looking for and if they do you can buy it from them.
Good luck!
Here are some sites with cake picks
Instead of making cupcake picks; how about trying to make individual puppy cupcakes.

This cupcake could pass as a dog. Make pointed ears. http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder...
I would check craft stores for the tooth picks, places like AC Moore, Michael's arts and crafts, or you can buy erasers in the shape of small animals and possible stick them on the end of the tooth pick... or Wall-mart sells small plastic animals in the bag, you can pick up a bag for 99 cents and see if you can put those on the tooth pick.....
try looking at michals or hobby lobby or a party store. if u cant find any make some out of candy and lolly pop sticks. u can find the kits at any craft store.
