Planning a 1920's gangster party, any ideas?
My birthday is in a couple of months and I would like to plan a 1920's Chicago gangster party. Do you have any ideas for activities, music and food. I already thought of music from the movies Bugsy Malone and Chicago, for example.

Hi, We did a roaring 20's party a couple of years ago, it was allot of fun.
One of the ideas that I liked that I wish I had done we like a murder theme, you have everyone dress for the time period and you have a murder happens at the begin and try to solve it, I am enclosing a link to buy the game.
We served the liqueur drinks in mason jars ( because of prohibition.
We found a couple of local costume shops that would rent or sell costumes. most of the costumes where found at IPARTY. we sent out this information on the invites.
the game the played was like a trivia game, ( we just got a ton of info off the Internet.)
you could also play the Limbo using Boas as the pole.

Have the gals wear flapper dresses and hats, lots of make up. Tell the guys to wear fedora hats, dark suits, shoes with "spats" if they can. Make the venue feel like a speakeasy, where you need a special password at the door to get in. Have a honky tonk piano around, decorate with old violin cases and flasks.
invite your local mafia....they might also have some party ideas
Don't forget the white suit & the white hat with the black band for the guys.
get a gogo band like TCB, have best dressing ,and invite ghetto people that know how to start a party.
