Any ideas for a party?!?!

Question:

Any ideas for a party?!?

Im hosting a poker night / party this weekend.. Theres a bit of competition between friends of who throws the best party! Naturally i want it to be me!Any funny / good ideas i could use at my party to get everyone laughing?! Thanks!

Answers:
where to start, there are so many things you could do.

make it a themed night, eg, wild wild west . everyone dressed up in cow boy outfits, you could research what foods they use to eat, what they use to drink. turn the house into a saloon. plastic guns. you could do as much or as little as you wanted and it would work for every theme you can think of from fairy tale characters to vicars and tarts

you could make the poker night into a murder mystery night, you can get the box sets in places like toys r us for about 10-20 pounds. they are so much fun i have been to two. and everyone really enjoyed themselves

you could do drinking games along side the poker, there are loads of website with games to play.

you can make a punishment box. for the person who loses the most money (or chips or what ever your playing with) has to pick a punishment from the box. these can be dealt out as often as you want them to be, say every 15 minutes. the punishments can be what ever you chose them to be, after all you will be the one writing them. just write it on a scrap of paper and put it in the box the loser picks one out randomly.

hope these helped inspire you, and good luck with the party

strip poker
lol

One simple idea: if a poker game is part of the event, then get some packs of really naughty playing cards!

A stripper.

You could serve the meal backwards beginning with dessert.

forget poker....play the Deal or no deal game that is a interction DVD game. It only costs £11.99 from play.com

Why not try a solid color party? Like say....everyone is required to wear all or mostly blue and bring a food item of that color like blue M&M's or something lol. Then you the hostess can wear something that stands out like All white! That makes you stand out and your party very different and totally cool

Why don't you make it a fancy dress party as they nearly always get people going because you can't take it too seriously!! Get everyone to come as something beginning with the letter 'P'! There are lots to choose from, priest, penguin, prostitute, pimp, princess, powerpuff girl, pound coin, p#nis!!! Guaranteed to get laughs!! And buy tons of Tesco Finest or M&S party food (widely available at the mo cos of Chrimbo!!!) to impress your guests!!!

Black Tie event and Cocktail dress for the ladies, making it a casino or Bond night.

Everybody loves to dress up and it is an excuse to get the cocktail shaker out, as everybody will want it shaken not stirred.

Hope you have a great night what ever you decide for your theme!

Get the cards that when someone pulls the card water spits out of it! You can get them from a joke shop!

Invite a guest speaker.
Maybe throw a shocking action into the party so that at least it will be a talking point for years afterwards - perhaps declare your love for one of your guests and ask them to marry you.

Have a 'chav' party. Everyone dresses up as chavs. Did this for my husband's 40th and it was a scream. We crowned a chav king and queen of the evening.

We had a party yesterday, i was having a few issues with getting older so we had a kids party with minature finger sandwiches, smarties, crisps, jelly, ice cream etc, party hats and balloons and the theme was 'When i grow up.....' and everyone had to dress as what they wanted to be when they were younger......things like astronaut, power ranger, policeman, fireman......was ace. Also if you are playing poker finger foods are best as can be eaten with one hand and arent v messy.

expand it into a casino and then give it a james bond theme.
