Finger foods are a must
If you're planning a Superbowl Party, the most important thing to do is prepare in advance. Get as much done ahead of time so you can enjoy the game with your guests. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:
Do all your chopping and slicing in advance. Store chopped veggies in plastic bags, ready for your platter.
Crockpots are great for keeping foods warm. Borrow extras from your friends. Use for cheese dip, meatballs, or sausage links. A quick and easy sauce for meatballs or sausages is a mixture of store-bought or homemade raspberry chipotle sauce and a small can of tomato sauce.
Choose foods that require little, if any, silverware.
Be prepared with plenty of toothpicks and napkins for those finger foods.
Have plenty of coffee and sodas ready well before you end the party. Don't let your friends drive home drunk.
Finger food ideas
One of the hottest football party foods is chicken wings. Whether you make them Buffalo-style, sweet and sour, honey-glazed, or otherwise, these are sure to be a hit. To save time, choose a baked chicken wings recipe, make in advance, and just reheat for the party.
Steam a bag of scrubbed baby red new potatoes in their skins. Toss in kosher salt while hot, then let cool. Cut in half and scoop out centers (reserve for potato salad), leaving 1/4 inch of potato inside the skin. Fill with herbed cream cheese or sour cream, salsa, taco-seasoned chicken or ground beef, chicken salad, or whatever sounds good to you. Serve at room temperature.
Pick up a bottle of raspberry chipotle sauce or make your own. Pour over a block of cream cheese and serve with club crackers. Salsas over cream cheese with tortilla chips is another popular quick dip.
Don't waste money on one of those giant submarine sandwiches from the deli. Pre-order a large loaf from the bakery or bake your own bread. Several large bread rounds will also work. Buy your favorite deli meats and cheeses. Load them up in the morning, wrap in foil and refrigerate for later. You can warm them in the oven or serve them cold.
Wraps, pita sandwiches, and roll-ups are easy to put together ahead of time. For roll-ups, spread tortillas with cream cheese, mustard, mayonnaise, or your favorite condiment, layer with thin slices of meat or poultry, roll up and slice into bite-size pieces. Pre-make pitas and wraps or consider letting guests make their own, buffet-style.
Hollow out hard rolls, sourdough rolls, or any rolls with a hard crust to use as edible bowls for chili.
Make hot dogs the main event at your Superbowl party by cooking them in beer and setting up a condiment bar.
Large, hollowed-out sourdough bread rounds make a great container for dips. Use the same idea with red or green heads of cabbage, multi-colored sweet bell peppers, tomatoes, grapefruits, and oranges.
Fill celery ribs, hollowed cherry tomatoes, snow pea pods or cooked, drained, and cooled large pasta shells with tuna salad, chicken salad, ham salad, or cheesey mixtures.
Don't forget the chips, dips, and salsas.

Go buy two big platters of wings: one spicy and one regular. Put it out with celery stalks and blue cheese and ranch dressings on the side. Then have a big bowl of tortilla chips and queso simmering in the crock pot. You can't go wrong with these if there are guys involved!
Chili's traditional. Chips and dips, check out the websites of SF Bay Area news shows...I know one has a superbowl dip contest every year. Spinach dip is always welcome in my mouth! Hot dogs are festive, make sure you have a nice table of toppings. Make your own tacos too! How about a nice theme of ethnic foods? I love ethnic! Thai, Indian, Mexican, Spanish? Mostly though it's traditional to serve American food like burgers and Hot Dogs. Maybe get a little fancy and serve homemade pizzas! I love to make homemade crust and cook on my pizza stone. It's so much better than takeout.
wings and pizza.
Chips and Hot Wings
Ok my family makes Shrimp with dip, Chili, Chips, Burgers, wings, Fry's, and other finger foods!
a football cake for sure
Make it easy on yourself. Let everyone coming to your party bring a dish or item. If you want to serve tacos, which is very easy & a real hit with everyone. You could buy the meat and cook it ahead of time. Brown it in a big skillet with onions and then add a can or two of sloppy joe sauce. Depends on how much you make. I always made at least 8 lbs of meat for 20 people. You can make it a day ahead of time and an hour before time to serve, take out of the refrigerator and reheat in the oven at 200 degrees till hot. Then.... ask others to bring.... already made taco shells, two heads of lettuce -shreadded, diced tomatoes, diced onions, 4 cans of black olives-diced, 5 pints of sour cream, 5 one lb packages of shreaded chedder cheese, 3 pints of quacamole, 3 lbs of potato salad, 3 lbs of macroni salad, 3 lbs of cole slaw, 5 lbs of baked beans, 6 bags of corn chips, 6 bags of wavy potato chips, 4 containers of bean dip and 4 containers of other dips, paper plates, napkins, plastic forks, spoons, knives, 16 oz size of plastic cups, ice chests with bags of ice inside, assorted soft drinks or mixers, BYOB and whatever else you want them to bring. As the host, you only need to supply the place and the meat as a nice touch. Have several card tables set up next to each other or two large 6 ft tables for all the food items if you do not have a large counter area. Leave the ice coolers with ice in the kitchen area to save on water spillage everywhere and all the drinks set out on the kitchen counter. If you like certain other foods, include them in. If people show up without what they said they would bring, send them to the store to get it. No freeloaders here.. My superbowl partys were always a blast and everyone wants to come and are happy to bring something. If you have your own backyard with a grill you can go that way also. Make sure you assign someone to bring buns, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayo. Or have a big pizza party with everyone splitting the costs; but also make sure all the chips and dips are brought along and paper and plastic items. As the host, you don't need to be chipping in on the pizza or anything like that. Believe me, you will be doing all the clean up; and I mean a mess; so don't feel like you need to spend the money on food and all. I use to make pigs in a blanket and buy the cocktail sausages in a big bag and the triangle dough in a can and make those in the oven. People loved those. Every year I did a different food; but kept the chips & dips and beans and salads and drinks. And I just let people put the foods on the tables as they arrived and we all just ate whenever we felt like it. Do Not Let Anyone Drink and Drive... Let them sleep on the floor or call them a cab. And of course No Drugs... Not only is it illegal and dangerous and although I preach live and let live,,,,, you might have neighbors who call the police just because you are having a party and they aren't kind of thing; but they will complain about noise or whatever and if any illegal drugs are found... everyone goes to jail, and the homeowner is the ultimate responsible person and if you own the home, you could loose it as it can be seized. (I use to date a criminal attorney). So keep it legal at any partys at your home or apartment. Oh and make sure you have enough quart and galleon sized zip lock bags and plastic wrap to keep the left overs in. I always took the left overs to work and shared them with everyone. And have a great time...
chips and dip, cheese and cold cuts[ make into sandwiches] chili. and something to drink

Oooh sounds fun! Nachos, popcorn and pizza are a must! Cheese, jalepenos, ground beef, beans, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and even extra cheese on the nachos! Don't forget jalepeno potato chips, cheetos, and regular potato chips. Be sure to include mini corndog, hot and buffalo wings, and swedish meatballs. A bunch of ice cream, sprinkles, hot fudge, caramel, nuts, cherries, and whipped cream so they can make their own sundaes, plus a cake in the shape of a football! And of course you gotta have beer, don't forget rootbeer too!
Tons of snack food that will stay good while you watch the entire game. Chicken wings, shrimp cocktail, chips and dips in a few varieties, veggie tray and dip, some desserts, small meatballs, mini sandwiches. . . . .A good bar. . .some fruit punch. . . .some sodas and stuff.
DO A BUILD YOUR OWN TACO TABLE WITH BEEF, CHEESE, TOMATOES, SALSA, BLACK OLIVES, SOUR CREAM, RED ONION, REFRIED BEANS, LETTUCE, HARD TACO SHELLS. IT IS EASY AND PEOPLE CAN GET WHAT THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT
That's easy... My husband is also having one but I am the one making the food.
If you know how to cook then I suggest you go to the store and get the chicken party wings and put them in the oven. When almost done take out.
In a seperate bowl mixed brown sugar, bbq sauce of your choice and hot sauce and pour over the wings. place in over til chicken is done.
Also peanuts! You need nuts
Platters of meat and cheese and chips and dip.
You can also make the easy dip with putting chili and velveta cheese in a bowl and popping it in a microwave.
Serve with tortilla chips and your good to go.
Make lots of wings and have plenty of chips and dip and pretzels would be good too.
Don't forget BEER! God forbid you forget that!
Also have bottled water and sport drinks like gatorade, or powerade.
Have Fun
