I really need help with this party!?!
I have no clue what to do! I really want to have an "Arabian Nights" themed Sweet Sixteen and I really don't know what to do about decorations and food!. I am thinking about having the party at a really big place that sort of looks like a community center!. Please can some one help me with my party planning!.!.!.!? Only serious answers please! This is not a dumb idea at all!
But if you want to have a little bit more to work with why not do a 'Bollywood' theme party instead!? It uses the same color scheme and what not, but is all about glamour!.(Bollywood is India's version of Hollywood, and is home to the biggest film industry in the world!.)
I don't know what your budget is, but if its fairly large, hanging rich colored (deep oranges, reds and golds), but sheer fabrics from the ceiling with lights on top of them (either strings of christmas lights or just have it draped underneath lighting thats already there) so they shine through would be gorgeous for either theme!.
For a Bollywood party, think about hiring a belly dancer to either put on a show or give you and your guests a how-to demonstration!. You can find them by calling local talent agencies or I have even seen people advertise it on craigslist (just make sure they are reputable first-always ask for references if you do it that way!)
For food, samosas are an Indian filled-pastry type appetizer and they do sell different varieties frozen at the grocery store!. indianfoodforever!.com has recipes on it, or will at least give you an idea of authentic foods if you want to go that route!. Or you could look for a local indian restaurant that could cater some of the food!.

How much money can you put into the party!?
The centerpiece in my mind would be a very large tent draped with soft and rich clothes to make it look more authentic (no one will believe that camouflage to be anything else) inside having a low table with heavily padded cushions around it!.
Finger foods that are eaten with fingers are a no go!.!.!.though if they are wrapped to prevent grease or food stains away from all that cloth!?
