Question: Adults only Anniversary Party- Cocktail Party or Buffet!?
The cocktail party would save about $600-$700 compared the buffet!. This would be an adults only party!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

imo, i would do a cocktail party!.!.!.!. more informal, more fun, and more social
i would leave the whole buffet, formal party situation to the more formal occasion!.!.!.!.THE WEDDING!.!.!.!.

make the party after dinner time!.!.!. like 7 PM!.!.!. that way the older folks know to eat a good dinner, and then they will leave by 9 or so, and then its party time!.!.!.!.
thats what i would do!.!.!.!. you didnt say anything about alcohol!.!.!.that i saw!.!.
also, have tea sandwiches in case the older people conveniently forget to eat dinner, and a nice cookie tray, they like to take cookies home!.!.!. or better yet, a great thank you gift is cookies in a nice plastic cookie bag for each guest!.!.!.

in a cocktail party people can be more interactive and enjoyable , but in a buffet it's a little more serious but it can be some times enjoyable , and more OFFICIAL!.!. but would prefer a buffet to a cocktail party for a anniversity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

cocktail party is fine- times are tight right now anyway, save your money!. plan it for after dinnertime and people will have eaten already anyway!. bring out appetizers a little in the beginning then bring out more later into the night when people will want to snackWww@FoodAQ@Com

A cocktail party is just fine!. You can still have crockpots of appetizer meatballs or small franks too !.!.!. and don't forget some platters of pretty cookies, mini-cheesecakes, chocolate-covered strawberriesWww@FoodAQ@Com
