Me and my mates went to one and went as cavewomen and men it was sooooo funny! you can buy a really cheap one with all the accesories from Aspley party shop lol or any fancy dress shop they all come in little packs it was wicked!
You -- Black suit with all the fixings.
Her -- Black dress with the festive jewelry.

ask ur girlfriend what she's wearing and go from there. if she's wearing something that would be considered a prom dress or a bridesmaid dress...get a tux. otherwise a nice shirt, jacket and tie would be perfect. but make sure you shine your shoes. nothing's worse than looking at your perfectly dressed date and then seeing scuffy dirty shoes.
Go for Fred, Daphne and your baby as Scooby Doo, it be so sweet :o)
Each get a big box (and a little one for the baby). Cut holes in them for arm, legs and head. Then wrap them in christmas wrapping paper, and go as a family of presents.

Suit and tie. Or - I would go by what the invitation says. If it's not stated, I would ask the host about attire. The time of day might help as well. Evening is usually more formal than afternoon. For a less formal occasion, a sport jacket and shirt or turtleneck. Hope that helps.
