Does anybody have a yummy but easy holiday dessert?!

Question:

Does anybody have a yummy but easy holiday dessert?

I am supposed to bring the dessert to my family Christmas dinner. There's at least 12 people. I'm looking for ideas... but make it easy. I love to cook & bake but I have little boys who like to "help".

Answers:
My sister's neighbor swears by this dessert:

Get an oblong pan about 12 by 18. Coat the bottom with Cool Whip. Arrange (unwrapped!) ice cream sandwiches in a layer across the surface, as if you were laying a brick floor. Cover the whole thing with more Cool Whip, and freeze.

Serve cut in squares with hot fudge and maraschino cherries!

I'll bet the boys will do a good job "helping" with this!

My husband calls this "pink stuff" and demands we have it at every family gathering. I don't care for it, but only because it is a little too sweet for my taste. Kids could certainly help with this one.

Container of whipped cream
Can of sweetened condensed milk (the larger one)
Marachino (sp?) cherries (the chopped kind, throw out the juice)
Can of pineapple tidbits (drain first)

Toss it all together and whip until thoroughly mixed. Refridgerate for an hour or so and serve.

Hello Dollies

1 stick of margerine or butter
1 package of graham cracker crumbs
1 package of sweetened coconut
1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 package of pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (you might part of a 2nd
can)

Melt the butter or margerine in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan, and spread the liquid so it covers the bottom of the pan (thin "layer").
Sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs until you have a layer that has absorbed most of the margerine/butter
Then make a layer of coconut.
Over that, sprinkle the chocolate chips and nuts - not a solid layer, but enough that there are plenty in each bite; you may have some chocolate chips left over.
Over the whole business, pour the sweetened condensed milk so that most of the ingredients are covered.
Preheat the oven to 350, and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the sweetened condensed milk has turned golden-brown.
Cool and cut into squares.

This takes MAYBE 20 minutes to put together, and sprinkling coconut and chocolate chips and pecans/walnuts is a good task for little "helpers." If you use a metal pan that you can set on the stove top, you don't even have to get anything else dirty to melt the butter/margerine (of course, mom should do that part). Makes the best, richest, totally-bad-for-you, and easiest dessert you can find!!!

Minty Muffin cupcaKES

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1 large egg
1 1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 3/4 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1/4 teaspoon mint extract
2 to 4 tablespoons milk
Red cake-decorating gel
1. Heat the oven to 375 and line a 24-cup mini muffin pan with paper baking cups.

2. Sift together the first four muffin ingredients in a medium bowl, then stir in the chocolate chips.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg until frothy. Blend in the milk, sour cream, butter, and vanilla extract.

4. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour the liquid mixture into it. Stir just until they're uniformly blended.

5. Divide the batter among the muffin cups, filling them to the top. Bake the muffins on the center oven rack for 17 minutes (the tops may brown slightly). Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack.

6. To make the icing, use a wooden spoon to cream together the butter and confectioners' sugar in a medium bowl. Blend in the mint extract and milk until smooth.

7. Remove the cooled muffins from the pan and frost them. Use the cake-decorating gel to add red stripes, as shown.

This recipe has 3 ingredients- Key Lime, Lemon or Passion Fruit pie...

3 egg yolks, 1/2 cup key lime, lemon or passion fruit juice, and 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. Mix together and put in a graham cracker crust. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool, put in fridge for at least an hour. (I've even served it warm before and it still was great!)
