White Elephant Swap?!

Question:

White Elephant Swap?

I have a white elephant swap for work - can anyone suggest some ideas?

Answers:
White Elephant swaps have to be things you already own & hate! The worse the better! like the ceramic cat from Aunt Maude-this is a fun evening! Just make sure is is awful! Nothing nice at all! Maybe an old lamp-look around! Get rid of it!

Candy and chocolates usually go over really well. Try some truffles! :)

Depending on your price limit, things like memory key cards and other little electronic accessories go over well with either gender.

Don't buy anything. Find the most offensive, ugly thing in your house that you've been wanting to get rid of, tie a bow on it and MERRY CHRISTMAS, it's someone else's. I once got this horrid vase at one of those and it was always a game the years after who would get it next.

white elephant swaps are fun and cheap. Because you already have the stuff in your house. You know that ugly nasty vile thing in the living room , not you husband, but that other thing yeah that,
just bag it up and there you go. My daughter got an electric blue wig and coffee filters at one last saturday .
So have fun,
Morgaine

ooo those are fun. you have to pick something in your house that you hate...that way you can give it to someone else, but on the down side you get a crappy gift. It's a pretty fun thing though

...A white elephant swap means that you take an eye-sore from your house and wrap it up.So just look around, maybe someone gave you a off the wall thing that never was appreciated---DUMP IT!!

i've never heard of this but it sound like it'll be good for a laugh....

Its where you get one (unisex) gift and at your Christmas party they number them and then everyone draws numbers. the gift you get is the corresponding gift to the number you pulled

Chocolates
Assorted Gourmet Teas
Gourmet Coffees
Hickory Farms Meat and Cheese Baskets
Bottle(s) of wine
Ornaments and/or other holiday decor items

Although the white elephant exchange has traditionally been tacky gag gifts, almost everyone I know these days uses the term "white elephant" when they mean a nice gift exchange using the white elephant formula where you can steal gifts from others.

Hope that helps!

Last year my husband wrapped up a bottle of Tequila (new), and a bottle of asprin & toilet bowl cleaner we had in the bathroom closet. It was a big hit!

My gift I brought last year was a $10 scratcher. The person that ended up with the gift won $50 off of it!
