Mexican themed par-tay decorations??!

Question:

Mexican themed par-tay decorations??

Mexican food tonight at my house, we are teaching someone how to cook - her poor husband is tired of fast food. Anybody have any good ideas for last minute decorations as a joke? I thought it would be fun to make something festive to put in the drinks, we are having margaritas but my creativity isn't up to par today. Help!

Answers:
The most Mexican of decorations for a party is hanging "papel picado" across the room.

(Of course, the more lines you hang, the better)

"Papel picado" is made with sheets of TISSUE PAPER.
Examples of patterns:

Unfortunately, they do take time to make. The trick is of course folding the sheet and making minimum cuts to save time. Depending on where you live, you could also buy them.

Also you can use large sheets of tissue paper as a table cloth. Combine: purple and orange; or red, white and green.

You could also hang SPIRALED streamers of crepe paper across the room. In this case, I would stick to RED, WHITE and GREEN.

Small pi?atas, of course.

MUSIC
Play Mariachi music ("Cielito Lindo", "El Rey", "Si Nos Dejan", "Mi Gusto Es") or Classical Orchestral music from Mexican composers ("El Son De La Negra", "Mexico Lindo y Querido", "Jesusita en Chihuahua", "Guadalajara")

Sombreros.....lots of bright colored crepe paper....pinatas.....christmas lights.....bright colored cloths and blankets.....and rent a donkey LOL

I am giving you a website (with a direct link to what you are looking for) for a store that my cousin manages, and pretty much all of us have worked in at one time or another. They have AWESOME prices, and cheap shipping that is FAST! Good luck!
